D's Questions

Guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and have a go at answering these:

What do you see when you look out your front door?

My front lawn (in need of mowing), the street and my neighbour's house across the way, with multiple garden gnomes on all the window sills.

What was the last thing to make you really, really angry?

It was the runaround last summer trying to get everything done in relation to my move from Spain back to Canada. The fact that the office that was handling the legal side of the sale of my flat took the entire month of August off was particularly annoying!

Do you have a favorite breakfast cereal?

Not really, but if I have to name one it would be Rice Krispies.  The snap etc always fascinated me when I was a child.

Seriously...why do most women hate Pamela Anderson?

I don't hate her; I'm barely aware of her, so would only be guessing as to why others can't stand her.

Where is the strangest place you've fallen asleep?

It was probably on the subway in Toronto. I used to do that frequently after a night out with friends...

What is the earliest secret you remember keeping from a parent, guardian or mailman?

The one that springs to mind is trying to both hide and keep alive a geranium plant that I had bought for my mother for Mother's Day.  I was probably six or seven, and really didn't have a clue about plants (still don't).

Confession time:  What's your favorite ABBA song?

I really don't like ABBA enough to have a favourite.

Did you really learn everything you needed to know in kindergarten?

Not really. One clear memory is the day that I wanted to play with a toy truck, and they were all being used by the boys. (This was long enough ago that girls were supposed to play with the dolls, boys with the trucks.)  I sat down, drew, coloured and cut out a truck and proceeded to play with it. The lesson learned, I imagine, was that if you really want something you need to do something about it yourself.

What is the one food you despise?

I'll try anything once, but I'm not at all fond of black pudding.

Why didn't Noah take any dinosaurs on the Ark?

I have always understood that men and dinosaurs did not co-exist on earth, so presumably there were no dinosaurs around for Noah to round up.  Of course unicorns are another question!

Seasoned Travellers

When I returned to Canada from Spain last year, my dog and cat came with me, on the same flight.  They were pretty annoyed with me for a little while, but both have settled in to our new home.

My dog turned 13 just after we arrived last fall, and saw snow for the first time in November.  He loves it and had me throwing snowballs for him to chase.  He even leaps into the air trying to catch them.  Here he is, in his winter coat:

My cat is only about six months younger, not sure as he was a stray kitten, living by a mall in Spain before coming to live with us.  He is pretty much an indoor cat, but has ventured into the back yard a couple of times.  Frightens me, as I don't trust him not to shoot off up a tree after a bird or a squirrel!  Here he is, on the pink towel he has claimed as his own:

Flowers in My Garden

I am really enjoying watching to see what flowers I have in the garden of my new home.  I moved in last December, so since spring have been having some pleasant surprises.  I have even had the pleasure of seeing one flower that was given to me by a very dear friend as a house-warming gift bloom already.  We planted it together just last month.

If I manage to do this correctly, you'll be able to see a couple of them!

My New Quiz: Quirky Blue Jay Tidbits

A new quiz of mine has been placed online!  It is in the Toronto Blue Jays category, in Sports.  Click on the link below to play it, and feel free to leave comments!

Quirky Blue Jay Tidbits (10 questions)
Try your luck on these ten questions, about some fairly useless, yet interesting, Blue Jays facts. The answer choices for each question all wore the same number as Blue Jays, which might help you narrow down the correct answer.
