Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. While in some parts of the world, they change colors during autumn (also called fall) in spring and summer you will see these as green as can be; what are they called?

Answer: leaves

Green leaves on a plant are the part of the plant that produces the food for the plant or tree. They do this through a process called photosynthesis. This means they take energy from the sun, and convert it into chemical energy (or plant food). The prefix photo means light, so they get light energy from the sun.

5. What is the name of the veggie that looks like a miniature green tree?

Answer: crocodile

One good meal can last a saltwater crocodile for several months. The main difference between an alligator and a crocodile is in the snout: the crocodile's is more narrow. They swallow stones to help grind their food up in their stomachs, because they swallow it in large chunks instead of chewing it thoroughly in their mouths.
8. Which fruit that can be green is a homonym of pair?

Answer: pear

There are more than 3000 types of pears in the world. Pears were once called "butter fruit" because of their soft insides resembling butter's softness.

Answer: lettuce

Lettuce is mostly water, and the darker the leaves are the better it is for you. The lettuce in the picture is Romaine lettuce, also called Cos, because it was discovered by the Romans, on the island of Cos in Greece.
