There are hundreds of species of tarantulas. A couple of sites say that certain tarantulas can live up to 2 yrs or more without eating...

Scientists have tested for how long a tarantula can live without eating and was only offered water and the longest period was 2 years and 9 months and 19 days

Their results showed that a female tarantula can live up to 2 1/2 years without food!
