Curious, what are you watching while the world spins around us?

What's your favorite thing about it? Does it help you get through?

We binge-viewed The Great British Baking Contest, Season 1, yesterday. I am suffering from elevated serum glucose as a result.

I went to check it out. Season one link is "outdated" but season 2.. cakes, breads...looks positively lethal.

I watched American Gothic, I think it's a few years old but it kept me hooked.

'Quiz' was quite good as well, the fictionalised account of the 'Coughing Major' WWTBAM case from some years ago.

I started "Line of Duty" this week.

And I missed the early Tom Hanks in Bosom Buddies so I saw the first episode. Pretty cute in a dress.

Looks like American Gothic is either murder mystery or horror?

Oh boy, 'Line of Duty'... if they don't come out with the new series soon I'm going to bite someone's leg off. It's a very British show so you need to suspend your assumptions of how cops work and don't expect constant action, just slow, methodical, detailed unpicking of corruption and offences against regulations... and it will all come right. Or will it?

If you like police shows, try 'Life on Mars', 'Ashes to Ashes', and 'Luther'. Then there's 'Hidden' and 'Hinterland', both set in Wales (sometimes with subtitles), and one of my favourites, 'Shetland'.

Plus don't forget old cases 'Waking the Dead' and the forensics 'Silent Witness'.

That lot should keep you going for a bit. ;D

Watching a couple of TV stations (COZI and METV) that show nothing but older TV programs. I Love Lucy, Dick Van Dyke Show, Carol Burnett Show, Hogan's Heroes, Gome Pyle USMC, Andy Griffith Show, Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, Star Trek, and so on and so forth.

oh boy! A bouquet of shows!

I just finished Line of Duty and I'm rather depressed. It did seem like no body came out ahead, everyone is smushed by rules and regs, and the Bad Man got away. ?

It's British, we don't always do happy endings. But there have been five series and the sixth should be out later this year so keep watching!

Starsky and Hutch. A true classic, and never a better time to watch back-to-back episodes.

Last Man on Earth starring Will Forte. It's a comedy series that debuted in 2015 about a man who survived a virus that killed seemingly everyone else on the planet.

You are all so cultured :-D
I've been watching 'reality' shows... 'Shahs of Sunset', '90 Day Finance', and 'Before the 90 Days'. Trashy!

Like scorpion, I've also been watching the old TV shows on COZI and METV. May as well relive my childhood :-)

Oh goodness, how could I talk about cop shows and not mention Happy Valley! Or Broadchurch.

Last Tango... not a cop show but has Sarah Lancaster in it and is brilliant, with a stunning cast.

There are loads of non-fiction series too, like Portrait Artist. I didn't mention Masterchef because although I love it, salivate over the food, and just wish I could make my dinner look like that, I'm conscious that each country has its own version and none of them are at all alike. So I'd watch the Aussie version and the British versions, which are very different from the American version. We have two shows in the UK (three if you count the one for children), one for amateur cooks and one for professionals. However if you do watch them be prepared - always eat before the programme, eat ice cream/dessert while the programme is on, and then you won't be so hungry when it's over that you'll dash into the kitchen when its over to cook a pile of fries. ;)

I too like Masterchef and was very glad that Thomas won recently. Sandy pushed her luck once too often.

I found a channel that was showing Stargate:SG1 four times a day M-F and two hours a day on Saturday. It also showed Stargate Atlantis for two hours a day M-F. After finally getting to the beginning of Stargate Atlantis again, the channel stopped showing both shows! No matter. I have weeks worth recorded.

Plus I have Star Trek for five hours a night six days a week.
