Bible Alphabetics Trivia Questions

1. U is for "Underling". Which Old Testament Biblical prophet had a servant named Gehazi?

From Quiz
Bible Topics U-Z

Answer: Elisha

Gehazi was a servant of the prophet Elisha who was obedient to his master for a good while until his personal greed overwhelmed him, with the end result being stricken with leprosy. For the entire story of his failure to be obedient, read 2 Kings, chapter 5.

2. The letter 'A' is for 'Anointed'. Who anointed Saul as king of Israel? (1 Samuel 9:22-27)

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of King Saul -- A to Z

Answer: Samuel

Samuel, the last judge of Israel, is the correct answer. Details about Saul being anointed king can be found in Chapters 9 and 10 of 1 Samuel. 1 Samuel 10:20-22 tells of the people coming together for the coronation of the new king and at the key moment Saul couldn't be found. According to Verse 22 in the NKJV, the LORD advised Saul could be found hidden among the equipment. Rather than use the word 'equipment', the NIV uses 'supplies'. (The Amplified Bible uses the word 'baggage'.) Scripture records Samuel was strongly opposed to having a monarchy for Israel, but the overwhelming majority of the people wanted a king so he had to concede defeat.

3. K is for "Kill". What type of entity does Jesus describe as one whose function is to "kill, steal and destroy", according to John 10:10?

From Quiz Bible Topics K-T

Answer: a thief

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." The unstated but implied creature that Jesus described is generally accepted as being the devil. Whenever Jesus spoke in parable format, it was usually to keep those who were not intended to understand the underlying meaning of the parable (or story) from grasping just what was intended by His words. In this particular instance, some of the religious sect called the Pharisees had just witnessed Jesus healing a blind man, yet refused to accept such a thing as being possible. Jesus spoke in parable form to them because of their unbelief.

4. The letter 'A'. According to Scripture, Samuel had two sons, one whose name starts with the letter 'A'. What's the name of the son? (1 Samuel 8:2)

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Samuel - 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Abijah

Abijah is the correct answer. He was Samuel's youngest son with Joel being the oldest. However, the two boys did not live up to the high standards of their father, according to Scripture. 1 Samuel 8:1-3, in the NKJV, states: "Now it came to pass when Samuel was old that he made his sons judges over Israel. The name of his firstborn was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. But his sons did not walk in his ways; they turned aside after dishonest gain, took bribes, and perverted justice."

5. The letter 'A' is for 'Axhead'. What is the significance of an axhead in Elisha's life? (2 Kings 6:1-7,)

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Elisha - 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: He caused an axhead to float on the Jordan River.

According to 2 Kings 6:1-7, Elisha caused an axhead to float on the Jordan River. The story of the floating axhead appears in 2 Kings 6:1-7. In a nutshell, Elisha and a group of prophets were cutting trees along the Jordan River to build a new place to live when suddenly an axhead fell into the water. The prophet who lost the axhead was apparently filled with distress as it was borrowed. When Elisha asked the man where the axhead fell, the spot was pointed out to him. 2 Kings, 6-7, in the NIV Bible, states: "Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. 'Lift it out,' he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it."

6. The letter 'A'. According to one of two Bible books written by Luke, where were believers in a resurrected Jesus Christ first called Christians?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Luke - 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Antioch

Members of the early church were first called Christians at Antioch, according to Luke in Acts 11:26. Previously, people who believed in a resurrected Jesus Christ referred to themselves as 'The Way'. According to notes in the NKJV Bible, the term Christian was originally used to ridicule believers. Later, however, members of the early church would begin to refer to themselves as Christians. Antioch was situated near Antakya, in present day Turkey.

7. The letter 'A'. What was the name of the evil king who, with the full support of his wife, was a bitter adversary of Elijah?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Elijah - 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Ahab

Ahab, the king of Israel, was a bitter adversary of Elijah. Ahab's wife was Jezebel and she is generally regarded as the most wicked woman in the Bible. According to Scripture, Ahab and Jezebel worshipped false gods and Elijah strongly condemned the couple. Spurred on by his wife, Ahab executed a number of prophets of God and attempted to kill Elijah as well. According to 1 Kings 16:33, Ahab "did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him." The story of Ahab can be found in 1 Kings, Chapters 16 through to 22.

8. The letter 'A'. One of the Twelve Disciples of Christ was originally a disciple of John the Baptist. As per John 1:40, what is his name?

From Quiz 25 Details About John the Baptist - 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Andrew

The correct answer is Andrew. Prior to becoming one of the Twelve Disciples of Jesus, Andrew served as a disciple of John the Baptist. John 1:35-40, in the NKJV, states: "Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples. And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, 'Behold the Lamb of God!' The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, 'What do you seek?' They said to Him, 'Rabbi' (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), 'where are You staying?' He said to them, 'Come and see.' They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour). One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother." Andrew, according to John 1:44, was from Bethsaida, a fishing community on the Sea of Galilee. After becoming a disciple of Jesus, his life would never be the same again.

9. The letter 'A' is for 'Aaron', the brother and right-hand man of Moses. How is Aaron described in Psalm 106:16 in the KJV and NKJV? (The NIV uses different wording.)

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Moses - 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Saint

In Psalm 106:16, in the KJV and the NKJV, Aaron is called a saint. (The NIV uses different wording, saying Aaron "was consecrated to the LORD."). The verse tells of the Israelites in the wilderness during their exodus out of Egypt to the Promised Land. To give the verse context, here's how Psalm 106:13-18 reads in the NKJV: "They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel, But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tested God in the desert. And He gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul. When they envied Moses in the camp, And Aaron the saint of the LORD, The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan, And covered the faction of Abiram. A fire was kindled in their company; The flame burned up the wicked." Moses and Aaron formed a dynamic duo and Scripture reports they were used by the LORD to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. After ten vicious plagues -- everything from the Nile River turning into blood to the deaths of the country's firstborn -- the brothers finally received the Pharaoh's permission to leave Egypt and to head to the Promised Land.

10. The letter 'A'. Who was the New Testament prophetess who spoke about Jesus "to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem"? (Luke 2:36-38)

From Quiz 25 Details About Women of the Gospels - 'A' to 'Z

Answer: Anna

Anna is the correct answer. After Jesus was presented as an infant at the temple by his parents Mary and Joseph, Scripture states Anna "gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem." According to Luke 2:37, she was the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher, and was of "great age" and a widow. Verse 37 also states Anna "did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day."

11. The letter 'A'. She was the daughter of Poti-Pherah, priest of On, and when she married Joseph she would have been one of the most influential women in Egypt. As per Genesis 41:45, what was the woman's name?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Women of Genesis - A to Z

Answer: Asenath

The correct answer is Asenath, but not much is known about her as she is mentioned in passing reference. According to Genesis 46:20, she was the mother of Manasseh and Ephraim. At this time, Joseph was the second most powerful man in Egypt, surpassed by only the Pharaoh. As a result, Asenath would have been one of the most influential women in Egypt. Notes in the New King James Version Study Bible state Asenath was an Egyptian name meaning 'Belonging to (the goddess) Neith'. The notes also state Poti-Phera means 'He Whom Ra (the sun god) Gave'. On was a city in northern Egypt noted for its worship of Ra. "But Joseph and his sons were worshipers of the Lord, not Ra," the study notes state. "Although Joseph married a pagan priest's daughter, he trained his sons to worship the living God. Possibly Asenath also became a worshiper of the Lord."

12. The letter 'A'. Who was Jacob's grandfather on his father's side, as per Genesis 25:19 and 28?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Jacob - 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Abraham

Abraham is the correct answer. According to Scripture, Abraham and his wife Sarah were the parents of Isaac who in turn married Rebekah and they had twin boys. The firstborn twin was Esau and the second one was Jacob. Although the boys were twins, they would be often bitter rivals in life. According to Scripture, Abraham was one hundred years old and Sarah was ninety when she gave birth to Isaac. (Genesis 17:17)

13. The letter 'A'. As per Genesis 21:2, who was Isaac's father?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Isaac - 'A' to 'Z'

Abraham, of course, is the correct answer. According to Genesis 17:7, Abraham was one hundred years old and his wife Sarah was ninety when Isaac was born. Previously, Sarah had been unable to conceive, until God intervened. According to Scripture, Sarah was so frustrated at being unable to conceive she gave permission to Abraham to sleep with her servant Hagar to create a child. The union between Abraham and Hagar resulted in the birth of Ishmael, traditionally perceived as the father of the Arab world.

14. The letter 'A' is for 'Author'. How many books in the Bible is John TRADITIONALLY credited with being the author?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of John - 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: 5

John is traditionally credited with writing five books in the New Testament. The books include the Gospel of John, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John and Revelation. Some modern theologians, however, dispute the claim John wrote five books. For example, some believe the book of Revelation was written by a man called John who has no connection with the Gospel of John. Personally, I am on the side of tradition and believe John wrote all five of the books.

15. The letter 'A'. In Genesis 17:5, God announces a name change for Abraham. What was Abraham's old name?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Abraham - A to Z

Answer: Abram

Abraham was previously known as Abram. Notes in the New King James Version Study Bible state the name change is "significant" as Abram means 'Exalted Father' and Abraham means 'Father of Many'. According to Genesis 17:1, Abraham was nine-nine years old when the LORD appeared before him and announced his new name. Study notes in the NKJV Bible state this was the fourth time the LORD appeared before Abraham.

16. The Letter 'A'. Who was the worker in the early church who was tutored by Priscilla and Aquila and is described as an "eloquent" man who was "mighty in the Scriptures"? (Acts 18:24-26)

From Quiz 25 Details About Early Church Workers, A to Z

Answer: Apollos

Apollos was tutored by Priscilla and Aquila, the dynamic husband-wife team in the New Testament. Acts 18:24-26, in the NKJV, describes Apollos as a "an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures." Verses 27-28 go on to state that in Achaia he "he greatly helped those who had believed through grace; for he vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ." Achaia is an area in Greece. The passage also states Apollos was born in Alexandria and linked up with Priscilla and Aquila in Ephesus.

17. The Letter 'A'. According to the New King James Version Bible, what was the name of the king who reigned over the vast kingdom of Persia during the days of Esther?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Esther - 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Ahasuerus

Ahasuerus is the correct answer. According to Wikipedia, Ahasuerus means prince, head or chief. (The king goes by a different name in the New International Version Bible, but we'll save that for a later question in this quiz.) According to Esther 1:1, Ahasuerus ruled over a vast empire consisting of 127 provinces that stretched from India in the east to Ethiopia in the west.

18. The letter 'A'. Peter had a brother who also served as one of the Twelve Disciples of Jesus. What was his name? (John 6:8)

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Peter -- 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Andrew

Andrew, of course, is the correct answer. Although they were brothers, Scripture gives the impression Peter and Andrew were almost direct opposites. Peter was brash and bold while Andrew was quiet and reserved. Peter's name is mentioned ninety-six times in the four Gospels with only Jesus' name appearing more often. Meanwhile, Andrew's name appears only fourteen times. In other words, if Peter was a five-star restaurant in Paris, Andrew would be a roadside diner in small-town Saskatchewan.

19. The letter 'A'. In what city that begins with the letter 'A' was Paul when he noted there was a statue to an unknown god? (Acts 17:16-34)

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Paul -- 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Athens

According to Scripture, Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, was in Athens when he came across a statue dedicated to "the unknown god." While addressing an assembly at the the Areopagus, Paul seized the opportunity and pointed out Athenians were actually worshiping the Lord without fully knowing it. Acts 17:22-31, in the NKJV, gives this account of Paul's address: "'Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: 'God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.' Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead'." Apparently Paul's reference to the resurrection of Christ did not go over all that well with the assembly. Verses 32-34 state: "And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, 'We will hear you again on this matter.' So Paul departed from among them. However, some men joined him and believed, among them Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them."

20. The letter 'A'. According to Genesis 41:45, what was the name of the daughter of Potipherah, priest of On, who became the wife of Joseph?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Joseph -- 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Asenath

The correct answer is Asenath, but not much is known about her as she is mentioned in passing reference. According to Genesis 46:20, she was the mother of Manasseh and Ephraim. At this time, Joseph was the second most powerful man in Egypt, surpassed by only the Pharaoh. As a result, Asenath would have been one of the most influential women in Egypt.

21. The letter 'A'. After becoming king, Solomon ordered the execution of his half-brother. As per 1 Kings 2:23-25, what was the half-brother's name?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Solomon -- 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Adonijah

Solomon ordered the execution of his half-brother Adonijah, who had unsuccessfully attempted to become king when David was elderly and frail. Solomon had spared Adonijah's life when he initially ascended to the throne. Adonijah's deadly mistake, however, was when he sought permission from Solomon to marry Abishag, a beautiful young maiden who had been assigned to take care of David in his latter years. The request to marry Abishag appears to have been the last straw and Solomon ordered the execution of his half-brother. 1 Kings 2:23-25, in the NKJV Bible, states: "Then King Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, 'May God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life! Now therefore, as the LORD lives, who has confirmed me and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has established a house for me, as He promised, Adonijah shall be put to death today!' So King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he struck him down, and he died." Notes in the NKJV Study Bible suggest Adonijah's request came with serious ramifications. "Taking a member of the king's harem would normally be interpreted as a claim to the throne," the notes state. Solomon was the son of Bathsheba and Adonijah was the son of Haggith, according to Scripture.

22. The letter 'A'. What son of David attempted to peacefully replace him as king but was thwarted by Bathsheba who intervened to make sure Solomon would become king? (1 Kings 1:5)

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of David -- 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Adonijah

Adonijah is the correct answer. While David was advanced in years, Adonijah set himself up as king. Bathsheba, David's most famous wife and mother of Solomon, however, thwarted Adonijah's plans and Solomon became king, as per David's plans. In 1 Kings 2:25, Solomon instructs Benaiah to kill Adonijah, and so ends the story of a would-be king.

23. The letter 'A' is for 'Ascension'. According to Luke 24:49-53, Jesus was in Bethany when He ascended to Heaven. Where was Bethany?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Life of Jesus -- 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Just outside Jerusalem

Bethany was a village just outside Jerusalem in Biblical times. According to Scripture it was the home of Lazarus and his sisters Mary and Martha. The eleventh chapter of John tells of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead at Bethany. Previous to the ascension, Christ had been put on trial, humiliated, tortured and crucified only to rise from the dead, as reported extensively in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Luke 24:49-53, In the NKJV, tells of the ascension: "And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God." References to the ascension can be also found in Mark 16:19 and Acts 1:9-11.

24. The letter 'A' is for 'Abraham'. What's the name of the community Abraham made a solemn request to God to spare from destruction, as per Genesis 18:20-32?

From Quiz 25 Prayers in the Old & New Testaments -- A to Z

Answer: Sodom

According to Scripture, Abraham made a solemn request to God for Sodom to be spared from destruction if ten righteous souls could be found in the city. Abraham's prayer was issued in a lengthy and direct conversation with the LORD. Sodom, along with Gomorrah, would later be destroyed by brimstone and fire. Notes in the NKJV Study Bible state the destruction took place because ten righteous people could not be found. The study notes state one of the reasons for Abraham's concern about Sodom is the fact his nephew Lot and his family lived in the city. Although Sodom and Gomorrah were both destroyed, Lot and his family were spared. However, Genesis 19:26 reports Lot's wife defied the LORD'S command not to look back on Sodom as they were fleeing and she was turned into a pillar of salt. Extensive study notes about prayer in Scripture, cite the lengthy conversation involving Abraham and God as one of 80 examples of prayer in the Old Testament and the New Testament of the English Bible. Here's how Genesis 18:16-33 in the NKJV records the lengthy conversation: "Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. And the LORD said, 'Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.' And the LORD said, 'Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know." "Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the LORD. And Abraham came near and said, 'Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it? Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? "So the LORD said, 'If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.' "Then Abraham answered and said, 'Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the LORD: Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?' "So He said, 'If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it.' "And he spoke to Him yet again and said, 'Suppose there should be forty found there?' "So He said, 'I will not do it for the sake of forty.' "Then he said, 'Let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak: Suppose thirty should be found there?' "So He said, 'I will not do it if I find thirty there.' "And he said, 'Indeed now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the LORD: Suppose twenty should be found there?' "So He said, 'I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty.' "Then he said, 'Let not the LORD be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?' "And He said, 'I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.' So the LORD went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place."

25. The letter 'A' is for 'Andrew'. According to John 12:20-22, Andrew helped lead a foreign delegation to a meeting with Christ. Where was the group from?

From Quiz 25 Details About the Twelve Disciples -- A to Z

Answer: Greece

The delegation was from Greece. John 12:20-22, in the NKJV, states: "Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. 'Sir,' they said, 'we would like to see Jesus.' Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus." One wag suggests that Andrew became the first foreign missionary when he led the delegation to a meeting with Christ. Scripture goes on to quote Jesus as stating to the delegation: "The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor." Christ goes on to predict His death on the Cross with Verse 27 and 28 stating: "'Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.' Then a voice came from heaven, saying, 'I have both glorified it and will glorify it again'."

26. The letter 'A'. Acts 5:1-11 tells of Sapphira and husband being struck dead by God for withholding money from the early church. What was the name of her husband?

From Quiz 25 Cases of Divine Retribution -- 'A' to 'Z'

Answer: Ananias

Ananias and Sapphira were stuck dead after selling their property and withholding part of the money from going to the Lord's work, as per Acts 5:1-11. According to Scripture, they were struck dead after they met separately with Peter and both claimed they had turned over the entire proceeds from the sale of their property. Acts 5:3-5, in the NKJV, states: "But Peter said, 'Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.' Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last." According to Scripture the same thing happened three hours later to Sapphira. Acts 3:11 tells of "great fear" coming upon members of the early church.

Adam and Eve were the parents of Cain, Abel and Seth and other unnamed sons and daughters. 29. The letter 'A'. What wicked queen killed her grandchildren to cement her hold on power? (2 Kings 11)

From Quiz 25 Kings and Queens -- 'A' Through to 'Z'

Answer: Athaliah

The sordid story of Queen Athaliah is found in the 11th chapter of 2 Kings as well as the 22nd and 23rd chapters of 2 Chronicles. She was the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel (2 Kings 8:18) and she was the original 'queen of mean'. In fact, she makes Leona Helmsley look like a Girl Guide. When her son Ahaziah died, she was unstoppable in her blood-thirsty mission to have herself instilled as queen. To this end, she killed all Ahaziah's children except Joash, the youngest, as per 2 Kings 11:1-2. (The only reason she didn't kill Joash is the fact he was placed in hiding.) In other words, she killed her own grandchildren to cement her hold on power. Athaliah reigned for six years and was killed in an insurrection. 2 Kings 11:20 states "all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was calm" when the news was announced Athaliah had been killed with a sword at the palace. Incidentally, two different kings were named Ahaziah. The first Ahaziah was the son of Ahab and Jezebel and reigned as king of Israel. The second Ahaziah was the sixth king of Judah. His father was Joram in the NKJV or Jehoram in the NIV.
