Fun Trivia
The concept of sin has been understood in a variety of ways over the centuries and around the globe, but a contemporary definition would describe a state of estrangement from God resulting from a thought or action which violates God's will. Traditionally, Roman Catholics have classified certain types of sin as mortal (meaning the the estrangement from God is so sever that an unrepentant death will lead to eternal damnation) and venial (meaning that the relationship with God has been damaged, but not completely broken).
