The NHL season is just under three weeks away. Come one, come all and tip your way through the NHL! Rules: - One point for a correct tip.
- Deadlines will be at the start of the first game.
- Default is equal to the number of away wins each week minus 1.
- Tips not in by the first game's faceoff will receive default score.
- We will tip 15 games each weekend (all Saturday and enough Sunday/Monday to equal 15).
- The NHL will be off from February 9th-25th for players to compete in the Sochi, Russia Olympics.
- There will be no All Star game again this year.
Bonus points: - One point for picking a result solo, or one of two, provided 12 tippers apply.
- One point for picking 13 or more of 15. There were enough weeks last year that earned a near miss bonus, and this year's comp will determine next year's eligibility.
- Tippers will be ineligible for bonus points if they tip all homes/all aways or all bar one.

I am guessing that the 'H' in 'NHL' stands for Hockey.  Count me in!

I am guessing that the 'H' in 'NHL' stands for Hockey. Does it matter? - I think some of us would be tipping even if it stood for hula hoop. So either way I'll give it a spin.

I am guessing that the 'H' in 'NHL' stands for Hockey. Yes it does, after a 1 year hiatus due to the strike shortened season it is back.

FunTrivia.com NHL tipping competition, aka, let's see who wins the most brawls on skates: - Welcome back after a 1 year hiatus following the strike shortened season.
- 6 games needed extra time to be determined and 10 Home teams defended their arenas. 4 of those 5 road wins were in extra time. Anaheim and Vancouver won 2 games over the weekend, Philadelphia lost 2 this weekend, while Edmonton split their 2 games we tipped.
- We only tipped below .500 in 4 of the 15 games this weekend, making it a solid start.
- Bonus points went to George95 and srini701, who got solo picks for Columbus's win over the Islanders, N-Bomb and toocool4u, who got solo points for Tampa Bay beating defending champions Chicago, both games were decided by shootouts.
- HoF winner srini tripled up spoon taker BxBarracuda 12 to 4.

FunTrivia.com NHL tipping competition, aka, let's see who wins the most brawls on skates: - We didn't have much faith in Nashville and they made us pay winning 2 games on the tipping schedule. That's not to say some tippers didn't reap some big rewards courtesy of the Predators. Columbus hosted Vancouver on Sunday, after they both played on Saturday, and the home team had a longer travel from Washington D.C. than the visitors did from Pittsburgh.
- Like Colin Hay some tipsters from Down Under were Men at Work when it came to bonus points, with Ozzz grabbing 3 bonus points and wwe getting 2 of his own, but while they wondering Who Can it Be Now, a Kiwi snuck in the back door, got back to Business as Usual and stole the show as N-Bomb grabbed 6 bonus points, 5 solo and 1 perfect pick to complete his Cargo haul of bonus points.
- HoF went to N-Bomb with 13, and adding his bonus points scores a whopping 19 points this week, Bx finally dodged the spoon as this week it went to dg_dave with 4.
- N-Bomb uses his monster week to leap 2/3 of the field and go from 10th to first.
- In root for the underdog news, N-Bomb was 5-2 this week, Ozzz was 3-2. wwe was 2-1, while dg_dave, gtho and toocool4u were 0-1.

Sorry to bring this up Dave, but the Oilers/Coyotes game was brought up to an afternoon start. It was already over when you tipped it, and you got it wrong.  Aren't we all guilty of this once in a while?
