So finally we're finished planning our summer holiday ... well I was hoping for LA or Vietnam, but once again my mum got the leading position in our family and made the choise of ... a canal trip to Holland. Please, what am I gonna do just to get a little fun out of my holiday? There are no one of my age at the boat, I don't have my own cabin and I only have one day in Amsterdam (which will definitely be the coolest)? Help me. *Uhh*

Actually, I've always wanted to go to Tunisia; no reason. It's just nice to say ··· Tunisia! LOL

It sounds as if you have your mind made up in advance that you are not going to like your vacation, but it is actually an adventure in another land and I don't see how you wouldn't find it exciting to go somewhere you've never been before. A good way to get a handle on this world we live in is to visit as many places as you can and experience as much about them as you can. It makes for great memories further down the road. You should look at this trip as a life-enhancing learning experience......maybe next year you all can go to L.A. or Vietnam, but each country has its own kind of charm and I'm sure Holland will be no exception. I hope you like cheese!

I can remember packing a lot of activity into a day in Amsterdam, but then my parents were elsewhere........

I enjoyed my visits to Amsterdam, I have fond memories of a shop which had a whole floor devoted to Christmas decorations, baubles for the tree etc...... but it was December. You like art galleries? Wonderful. The flower market was well worth a visit too - but I am older than you.

Canal boats can be fun too, you might find other young people when you moor up for the night.

Holland is a great place. My daughter went there with her boyfriend(now husband) and had a wonderful time.Stick to the flower markets, the Dutch Auctions and the Diamond Factories and it will be a fabulous holiday. There are lots of young people in Holland and the Dutch are a friendly people. Be positive. Think-I'm going to have a great holiday and you will!

Well, sounds to me that you are still young enough do all the other things you want to do. For now go with your mum and have the best time you can. I would love the chance to go to Holland, being that I live in California. I will tell you that with the exception of the Theme Parks and Hollywood and such. LA is really just another city good and bad.
Have fun and look forward to coming here another year.

A canal trip wouldn't be my ideal holiday too, but I'd be glad to get the chance to see some other country! A canal trip in Denmark would be great, just because I have never been there yet! I'm not into promoting my own country, just realise that Amsterdam isn't that great. Not that it's no fun, it's just that the rest of the country can be as much fun! Maybe you never hear anybody about that because they don't know how to pronounce the names of the towns [Smile] .
I'd just do my best and try to make something out of your holiday...
