The NBA season is just under a month away. Come one, come all and tip your way through the NBA! Rules: - One point for a correct tip.
- Deadlines will be Friday midnight FT with a two hour grace period thereafter. The tipping comp organizer will determine if a post is late.
- Default is equal to the higher of six or Wooden Spoon score.
- Tips not in by the first game's tipoff will receive default score.
- We will tip the opening day games, then 15 games each weekend (all Saturday and enough Sunday/Monday to equal 15).
- As per last year, the midpoints around the All-Star weekend will not be tipped.
Bonus points: - One point for picking a result solo, or one of two, provided 12 tippers apply.
- One point for picking 13 or more of 15. There were enough weeks last year that earned a near miss bonus, and this year's comp will determine next year's eligibility.
- Tippers will be ineligible for bonus points if they tip all homes or all bar one.

I always thought you Americans had only 2 of the 4 major sports on at the same time during a year...we already have NFL and NHL, and now NBA is also starting? How come?? In at any rate

Welcome to the 2013-14 NBA comp! What hangs in the balance for the Heat, after their championship run last year? Will the Lakers dethrone them, or will it be one of the other 14 West teams? That question will be decided in June.
Missing this week, but posting in Week 2, are LeoDaVinci and illiniman14, who will both start at seven. Welcome new tipper stitch013, who starts out mid-table.

Illiniman14 and LeoDaVinci make their debuts this week, and dg_dave forgot to tip, taking the minimum default amount at six.

We pulled exactly what we did the first week...to the tip. We even had the same number of bonus points as in week 1! Ozzz2002 picked up one instead of two, so it wasn't completely like week 1. 
Both dg_dave aand ozzz2002 knew something was up at American Airlines Arena, and picked up that win by Boston. Miami lost...woohoo!!! Likewise, N-Bomb and illiniman14 knew the Lakers were nothing but fakers against a team they'd only beaten 22 straight times.
We have a HUGE bottleneck in the middle, as six players are tied for fifth.
Even though ozzz2002 picked up a Spoon, Howie did as well, and ozzz2002 kept the top spot again, increasing his lead by one.
