WHO WAS THE PLAYER THAT CALLED TIME OUT WHEN HE DIDN'T HAVE A TIME OUT TO
CALL? WASN'T THIS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AND THEY LOST BECAUSE OF THIS?

Michigan (Fab Five - all freshmen team)
Finals, I think. Michigan brings ball down court, Chris Webber gets cornered and desperately calls for a time out. They have none remaining and Michigan is assessed a technical foul.Opponent gets free throw and possession and Michigan loses ! (I'm a Michigan grad !) I cannot remember the opponent - good blocking, huh ?

Was it Duke R-man?
I can't recall right now either.
Also, was Webber falling out of bounds at the time? I may be wrong but I thought that was the situation.

I'm not sure the year for this but UNC beat Michigan 77-71 in 93. The year before, Duke beat them 71-51.

Both of you fellows are right ! I just finished a little research to abet my story.... The timeout was called in the '93 title game against North Carolina.
Webber was trapped in the right corner adjacent to his own basket and WAS falling out of bounds when he called time out ! Ironically, Michigan had just come oncourt from their actual last timeout and their coach had warned them that it was their last timeout and not to call another or they would get a technical....
This was the Fab-Fives' sophomore season and their last game together - Webber was the first-round draft for the GS Warriors
for the fall '93 season.
Those Fab-Five players went to 2 NCAA Finals intheir 2 seasons together. Who knows what mighta been had they stayed together ! Other teammates ? Jalen Rose, JuWan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson!
