Here's one for you football fans. What team did the San Francisco 49ers play in their first home game at Kezar Stadium? Bonus: on what date was the game played?

You're right, mate. By the way, do you get American football on television down under?

yep, we used to get it every Tuesday night and then it disappeared, and then it came back again, and now I'm waiting to see what happens this August. It is really fascinating watching the weekends's highlights at midnight (it was always on late) when you have no idea what is going on! The best part for an aussie is watching a lateral. Is it true there are only a handful of games where there has been more than one lateral in the same down?

gtho4, have you ever seen a tape of the final
play of the 1982 Cal/Stanford "Big Game"? It's the wildest exhibition of laterals I've ever seen. Cal snatched victory from the jaws of defeat that day with a play that featured five laterals, a marching band on the field, a broken trombone, and an NCAA investigation. The thing is so infamous that it's known to Cal and Stanford fans simply as "The Play".
Generally, you don't see too many laterals in the pros or even in college ball these days. I think coaches consider it too risky a play. Once in a while you'll see a lateral
in a called play, such as the "fleaflicker" or the "hook and trailer", but mainly it's used in an impromptu fashion on a desperate
last play of the game.

haven't heard that one, will now keep an eye out for it - and check out this tape I've got called greatest comebacks, but from memory I think they're all NFL games
