The Kansas City Chiefs looked well on their way to winning their first playoff game in 21 years, even with star running back Jamaal Charles out of the game with a possible concussion. The Chiefs had a 37-10 lead early in the third quarter but the Indianapolis Colts would put up 5 touchdowns, the last with just over 4 minutes left in the game to take their only lead of the game, in the remaining time while Kansas City only mustered 2 field goals in that time which gave the Colts a 45-44 victory. The New Orleans Saints won their first ever road playoff game. Two early 3rd quarter touchdowns and a last second field goal propelled the Saints to a 26-24 hard fought win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Andy Dalton threw 2 interceptions and lost a fumble as the Cincinnati Bengals lived up their unflattering nickname, the Bungles, and extended their 23 year streak of not winning a playoff game. Dalton set a record by leading the Bengals to the playoffs in his first 3 seasons in the league, but none of the trips to the playoffs have proved fruitful. The game was played in a freezing rain with the San Diego Chargers getting the only points in the 2nd half to earn a 27-10 win on the shoulders of a trio of running backs, Ronnie Brown, Danny Woodhead and Ryan Matthews, who all ran for over 50 yards each in the game. In subzero temperatures the San Francisco 49er's traveled to Green Bay to play the Packers. The 49er's put up the first 6 points of the game and counter punched ever score by Green Bay after that point, never letting the Packers have a lead for more than 3 minutes. Some key runs by quarterback Colin Kaeperernick kept the San Francisco offense rolling on scoring drives and led to their 23-20 win. In all only 1 home team, the Indianapolis Colts, who needed an almost improbable 2nd half comeback to top the Chiefs, were able to defend their home turf.
None of us connected on the San Diego win over Cincinnati and going into the last game of the week 6 tippers were still looking for their first wins and only 3 of them were going to get it in the last game. Dizart and George95 hit all the games except the 1 we all missed, which has them at the top of the list, while the bottom is occupied by BxBarracuda, KrivoyRog and N-Bomb, who couldn't seem to pick a winner this week. Two people lost their advance AFC Champion, 2 lost their advance NFC Champion and 2 will have to repack their advance Super Bowl winner.
As a group we had barely over a 38% hit rate, it can only go up from here.

The Seattle Seahawks kept the New Orleans Saints offense in check by holding them to 16 points and were never really tested until late in the game, which ended on a last ditch weird illegal cross field forward pass by the Saints. New England ran all over Indianapolis, who didn't have another 2nd half miracle in them, 43-22. San Francisco didn't have a great defense, or even a great Red Zone defense in general against Carolina, but their 2 goal stands from the 1 yard line were epic and most likely meant the difference between a win and a loss, as the 49er's topped the Panthers 23-10. Denver didn't look outstanding, but they had enough to hold off a late comeback from San Diego 24-17. This sets up another classic Manning vs Brady game in Denver on Sunday and a game in Seattle that has become a fierce division rivalry, which has been the best one over the last couple of years.
Eight tippers got all 4 games right, nine others had 3 of the 4 games correct and no one has less than 2 correct.
We had a nearly 85% hit rate this past weekend.
George95 takes the lead solo this week, but he has 8 other tippers within 4 points of him.

The Seattle Seahawks dominated the Super Bowl led by their defense, who got the scoring started with a safety moments into the game, grabbed 2 early interceptions, 1 for a touchdown, stuffed the Denver running game, blanketed the Bronco receivers who made a lot of catches but didn't get much after the catch and thus they didn't get many first downs or points. Russell Wilson and the Seahawk offense started slow, but eventually solved the Bronco defense as Seattle routed Denver 43-8.
Seven tippers picked up 8 points this week for picking Seattle as their advance pick week 1 and sticking with that pick for the Super Bowl. Four tippers hedged their bets and guaranteed themselves 4 points for the game by picking against the team they chose for their advance pick week 1. Toocool4u picked up 2 points for his 3rd week advance pick of Seattle.
George95 is our winner, followed by Sypher and gtho4 who edged out wwe84 on the first tie breaker which happened on the safety in the opening moments of the game, for the final podium position. Gtho won back to back bronze medals in this competition, last years top two finishers didn't have as great of a run as they finished 14th and 16th. Sypher just missed his 4th win in this competition, no one else has more than 1, and George went from near the bottom last year, 14th, to the top this year.
In regards to other tie breakers, a tie for fifth was won by themonarch over paper_aero on the 2nd tie-breaker of Seattle having the halftime lead. Cubswin2323 nailed the total points for the game to edge Dizart on the 3rd tie-breaker for 8th place.
