I posted a recipe for a Peanut Butter Cheese Ball in the dessert thread. Here is the finished product. It was FANTASTIC.

This is one of two cakes I made for a friend's birthday. His wife did a Bilbo Baggins Eleventy-leventh birthday for him, so I made two Hobbit cakes for him. This is the 'Eye of Sauron'. It was made with French vanilla cake and a White Chocolate Mousse filling. I made buttercream for the icing.

This is the second cake I made for my friend - Bag End. Everything on it was edible. The base of the cake was devil's food, and Bag End was Devil's food cake with a chocolate mousse filling. All icing is buttercream. I always use gel food colors so it doesn't thin the icing.

Oh, there was plenty for me to nibble on while making the cakes. I had to level each layer, so there was a bit of extra cake just waiting to be nibbled, and I always make a bit extra icing, especially when using colors. I don't want to run out and have to attempt to match the color. And of course, I didn't use all the mousse...:)

Are you taking orders? Perhaps, shipping could be included. Just kidding.

One more cake - I made this for my friend's 50th birthday. She is a bit goth, likes skulls and such, so I went with that theme. I would have made it purple and black, but the cake is red velvet, so I went with red and black icing. I had planned to make a white chocolate ganache for the filling, and color it red so the cake would 'bleed' when cut. I unfortunately ran out of time, and had to use what I already had made (buttercream).

I found the skull topper at Michael's, with LED tea lights. The top piece of the skull would lift off so you could place the tea light inside, and the eyes would glow.

Impressive, and lovely.

Very nice. I've tried my hand at cake decorating but it is just not my forte. The best I've managed is with frozen buttercream transfers on flat cakes. Still not the best looking, but they always taste good!

I wanted to share my birthday cake, because it was AMAZING. My friend made this for me - she teaches cake decorating classes at Michael's.

Do you think that we could come up with enough money for the folks at FT to have their OWN cooking show? I'd watch it for sure. Fun and interesting work everybody!
