Sorry about not having been around for a few days! Here's another card I made last year, inspired by the interior of a cupcake shop at New York's JFK airport. I apologize for the poor quality of the photo!

It is my niece's 21st birthday today and this is the card I made for her. She likes butterflies and the colour purple, and the birthstone for June is pearl, so I incorporated all of that into this card.

Thanks - it looks better in real life because the butterfly is actually a double and the lacy silver wings stand up - but they are flattened in this picture because I scanned it.

I went on a scrapbooking camp a couple of months ago. This is one of the cards I made on the camp. I can't take credit for the idea as I was given one to copy. It looks simple but it's actually quite a lot of work cutting out all the rectangles and punching out all the dots, then carefully trying to position them all so that they are proportionate and balanced. The dots are mounted on adhesive foam so they stand up away from the card, giving them a 3-D effect like a real Lego brick.

I love that Carole and can see that it would be a lot of work, but worth while.

What a great idea, MG, no matter who dreamed it up. I can certainly see the amount of work needed to get it right, your card is great fun (& I'm going to nab the idea for my nephew's next birthday)

I finished this lap blanket last night, it has taken a while as I have had a number of items on the go at the same time.

I don't know what I am going to do with them all, I have three at the moment, my granddaughter thankfully took my rose one home with her or I would have four, oh and I have two in progress!

The issue of storing dies was raised recently so I thought I'd show you my new storage system in case anyone was interested. This is the first of three photos.

An American scrapbooking company called Stampin' Up (SU) makes storage cases for their stamps. They are the same size as a DVD case and are not overly expensive. I bought a stack of them to store stamps. I tried using ordinary DVD covers for the stamps but they have a raised circular platform inside (that the DVDs snap onto) which makes them unsuitable for stamps as there is not enough room for the stamps to lie flat. However, because dies are so thin, I guess it is possible that you could use them to store dies on the flat side - perhaps someone could try it and let us know if that works. However, I happened to have some leftover SU cases so I used those. An advantage of the SU cover is that you can see the dies inside the case without opening it so it makes searching through your collection easier

Inside the case, I stuck down some strips of magnetic tape for the dies to cling to. You can buy magnetic tape from a stationery or office supply store. It comes on a roll just like sticky tape.
