Shall we bring in the New Year with some fireworks over Caroline Bay in Timaru (definitely not the biggest display you will find...lol).

The fireworks were too far away for anything usable last night, so more London suburbia as that is where I live, dusk over Hayes in Kent

Crookshanks contemplates his New Year's resolution - will this be the year that he stops hogging the sofa and perches on the top of her favourite chair instead?

Here's Precious on New Year's Day, about to start yowling in an angry loud voice. I believe she thought the snow far too cold for her wee feet. I agree - it was -20 C!

I haven't tried that yet, Ren, but I should. Today feels even colder, so I think we'll both stay indoors smile

I love any kind of cat - even if it isn't a feline one.

Oh, I love them too, MG! Howie, I couldn't get tired of your bird pics, they are fantastic!

Don't let the sunshine here fool you. It is still wickedly cold outside and Precious and I are both content to stay indoors and view the snow and sunshine through the window!

Meerkats have such a dignified way of standing and contemplating things - they must think we're a bunch of lower life forms who don't stop to check out the roses enough. cool

Although the new camera can take photos at night I'll be very happy when I don't have to again.

Not a good day for the School Fete opposite my house, but the balloons were popular!

Wombats are cute, however, if you call somebody a wombat in our neck of the woods it means Waste Of Money Brains And Time. (It also has a ruder meaning which I can't post or explain here).

Inside the Botanical Gardens at Ooty, a hill station in South India, popular with the British during the Raj.

Hello new country, approaching Puttgarden on the island of Fehmarn in Germany. Time to stop enjoying the views and head back to the train to continue the journey to the next city I spend a night in.

The A4 in West Kensington, with a row of Barclay's Bikes on the right, otherwise named after the mayor of London Boris Bikes, although it is claimed they were already on their way before he arrived. It is another opportunity for innocent people to risk harm on London's roads as anyone can simply register as a user and put their card in the unit and ride on some of the roughest roads in the world, including this one. It may look reasonable here but wait till they start narrowing and splitting into two.
