Still working at night, just up the road in White City where the old A40 M goes over the main road.

I have only ever seen pictures, but that may be a Tasmanian Devil. He looks quite cross.
Jill what a gorgeous dog and what a great name!

It most certainly is!

Tasmanian devils have a tendency to be aggressive. They are currently under threat from an epidemic of a transmissable cancer called "devil facial tumour disease" which has caused an estimated 50% reduction in their population in the wild.

Getting closer to the next stopover, here we have countryside between Hanover and Gottingen in Germany, taken from the train.

My son, at the grand old age of eleven and a half, came in with this and asked me what it was. We don't use them in the outback very much but still I thought he'd come across one at some stage!

Today I went for a walk in Harrow Weald. Most of it looks exactly like everywhere else nearby I've taken, this was one of the more interesting views by the playing fields.

well, he knew what an umbrella was .. just not what it looked like folded up smile Thought it was pretty cool the way it opened up and brought untold bad luck on himself by opening it a hundred times inside!

Here is a cute little church .. can't remember where it was but somewhere between Goondiwindi and Brisbane!

After ice storms and wicked, wicked cold weather, today the temperature is 6 C and it is raining. This is the school playing field near me, and that is water not ice (though it will likely freeze overnight). I can hear the rain coming down as I'm typing.

And meanwhile, in Western Australia, we were apparently recorded as being the hottest place on the planet yesterday with 43.3 deg.C (110 deg.F) here in Perth and 46.9 (116.4) out in the mid-west at Morawa which is 370 km (230 miles) north of Perth. Thank goodness for air-conditioning - even if our Premier (head of state/governor) thinks we don't need it!

We visited a shop in Hahndorf, South Australia, last November and in the fireplace were these two skulls - "the last shoplifter" and "his missus".
