It's just gone midnight here so more likely to be seen here than the old one. You can't go wrong with path photos, more from Borehamwood as it's been raining since and not done anywhere else.

Three little oystercatchers all in a row, if one little oystercatcher should accidently fall....

I love those oystercatchers.

First little clump of snowdrops has just appeared - spring can't be too far away.

Love the oystercatchers, too, and the snowdrops.

Precious and I went out looking for spring today, but all we found was our footprints in the snow that was dropping...

I'm sure I saw what looked like bluebells sprouting in my garden, it's very early but we will see.

It was nice today so went to Wimbledon Park

To prove oystercatchers are not the only birds I stalk.....these black swans were visiting (or may even live there) Lake Okareka near Rotorua.

Gnawra gets quite hysterical at the firecrackers that are constantly let off at this time of year, so is allowed to come inside on the sofa. This is her 'grateful' look.

Love Gnawra's grateful look. She's a doll smile Love the black swans too, and the springlike pictures.

This was taken around half past four this afternoon, as the sun was going down.

This photo is setting the scene for the next one. Taken on the banks of the Goulburn River near Shepparton in central Victoria at the Loch Garry gauge (flood height marker in the foreground). Guess what we also saw while examining this as a potential field site? (to be continued...)

Mokoia Island in Lake Rotorua, the scene of New Zealand's most famous love story. In the condensed form.....Tutanekai, a brave Mokoia Island warrior of illegitimate birth and Hinemoa, an Arawa princess living on the mainland were forbidden to marry by her parents. However one night, Hinemoa followed the sound of Tutanekai's flute and swam across the lake's icy waters to find her lover.

In the longer form.....

Thanks very much for the story Howie. It always adds much more to a photo.

Here's what we found at our prospective field site on the Goulburn on Tuesday. This little guy/gal was happy to watch the activity below and then went back to sleep when realising we posed no threat.

Sorry Mike, it is only one a day in this thread. Can you make sure we have rolled over to a new day before posting? Thanks.
Edited to say I may have jumped in a bit quick there, although Wednesday is showing at the top of each post with me.

Someone asked me to add my photos from Israel in 1972 (I went again in 1976 but appear to have forgotten the camera, and in 1981 and it didn't work). This was the airport at Lod when we arrived.
