Nice, Zorba. All my attempts to get bees in pictures end up as blurs.

I think it's either a juvenile Golden Pheasant, or one that has just molted.

A little bit of America in Alperton. You need special permission for these stand alone advertising signs and very few make it.

Love that one zorba! Lovely pics everyone. Thanks to those who made such nice comments about my last posting too.

I've not posted for awhile because I thought you might be as tired of snowy pics as I am of the snow, but today Precious posed so nicely that I thought I must share smile

Sooner or later I am going to get another cat, every time I see one here I miss it.

An interesting block of flats in Walthamstow.

Tree washed up on the beach by the Washdyke Lagoon, Timaru. A calm day over the Pacific Ocean.

David: pretty brave of you to travel in those years when it seemed like there was a hijacking every couple of weeks. And good thing you weren't at Lod the following month! It's neat to see old pix of locations to see how much has changed (or has not, in some cases lol) in a just a few decades. The (now Ben-Gurion) airport is quite different these days.

Ren: That's a very colourful poster. Can you read/write any Chinese dialects yourself?

Howie: Those oystercatchers are so adorable, I want to name them Huey Louie and Dewey lol

SpanishLiz: Absolutely love the footprints photo. That would make a very cool desktop background.

Ren-again: I see you've been taking a few closeup pictures lately - you should do it more often as those plant photos are gorgeous

Zorbs: Cassowaries are so odd. Especially their creepy staring eyes lol. Speaking of "reptilian" creatures, I think that shedder you have there is a lizard not a snake, as it appears to have a front right leg. Cool pic whatever it is! And that photo of the coast is awe inspiring. I personally couldn't have gotten that close to the edge to take it!

Vanya: welcome back, haven't "seen" you here for awhile. Seems they're getting snow everywhere except in Sochi lol.

Howie-again: "Oddly enough", that washed up tree looks like a bird - heron like beak, long legs, wings and all. How appropriate, coming from you : ) Of course, I have a vivid imagination so other people's mileage may vary ~

Okay, I guess I should post something. I can't get any enthusiasm up whatsoever to go out and take snow photos (pretty or not lol), so am attaching a pic of some succulents that hibernate (in several pots) in my house until winter goes away.

I've got 25,000 pictures on Flickr now including various archives so can add some more when I haven't been anywhere new recently.

This is the centre of Leyton, most of East London looks similar as it all went up around the same time to serve the docks and trade along the river.

Precious and her friend Buddy don't see each other very much in the cold winter weather. Yesterday was their first encounter in ages. They were happier to see one another than this picture shows.

Strange looking fish at the Fischmarkt in Hamburg though it may have been because I was there late afternoon on a Thursday rather than between 5am and 9am on a Sunday. At least I did not get lost in the crowds of around 70000 if I was there on Sunday.... laugh

Despite the storms we have been having it has been a very mild winter and we have some early hawthorn blossom out.

You're right, Jake. I'm so terrified of those creatures that I probably took that picture with my eyes closed. grin
