Last year's version saw a very tight finish, with N-Bomb sneaking home by a single point, over paper_aero, and chogobad holding third on a countback. The same three players took the chocolates in 2012, too, albeit in a different order. Are you game to lock horns with this terrific trio? If so, simply sign up! Rules - One point a correct pick, nothing for a loss. - A bonus point for picking a perfect round. - Default if you forget to pick, wooden spoon score. - Tiebreaker will be HoF v Spoons. Largest margin wins, or if the margin is equal, total HoF count wins. - Deadline will be the start of the first game each weekend- usually a Friday night, with the occasional Thursday. - Late starters will start on the Wooden Spoon score. Round 1 will be posted soon, and we kick off on March 14. I suppose I'd better join ;-) I hope I'm as ready as the Hawks are, 3 games in the pre-season and 3 smashings, though to be fair the lions sent their second tier team and Melbourne are yet to get it all together under the new coach, but still you can only beat what they put in front of you, and beat them we have! Welcome to the AFL Tipping comp for 2014. We have 16 starters and hope that we can pick up a few more as the season progresses!

Round 1 had the usual unusual results. GWS ran all over their 'big brother', the Swans, in the last quarter, winning comfortably. Port Adelaide smashed Carlton, but the result that most footy fans will enjoy is Collingwood being slaughtered by Fremantle, and spending some time at the bottom of the ladder.

Our two ladies ozfei and 22crows sit atop the table, together with Howie72. Everyone else is in fourth or tenth position.

Both 22crows and Howie72 picked up their second HoF in two weeks and sit on top of the ladder. illiniman14 and srini701 also got 8/9 and jumped into equal third.

The rest of us all chopped and changed, with nobody besides the leaders staying where they were last week.

illiniman14 scored a HoF and is now in a share of the lead with 22crows. MikeMaster99 also scored 8/9, but must have mixed feeling- the one he missed was his team, the Tigers.

Spoon score was 6/9, and there were lots awarded.

Al out, all change!! We had a wide range of scores and only one player retained their position from last week. illiniman14 stayed in top spot, whilst all behind him went up or down- some a little change, and some a lot.

ozfei managed to picked her Demons to upset Carlton, but only got two other correct. She plummeted from fourth to eleventh. N-Bomb HoF-ed it and jumped into a share of second. paper_aero also got 7/9 and is now in fifth spot.

We had a wide range of scores this week, with illiniman14 picking up his third HoF, and opening up a two-point break over 22crows and Howie72.

gtho4 had a shocker and dropped from sixth to thirteenth. His rapid descent pushed a lot of players up a spot or two.

Nobody picked St Kilda to beat the Bombers and only BxBarracuda tipped Carlton to beat the Doggies. A pity, because I enjoy seeing either Carlton or Collingwood at the bottom of the ladder.

Howie72 picked up a HoF and jumps back into the lead. He is sharing that spot with illiniman14. who was one of only two tipsters to not move up or down. The other one was wwe84 who stayed in thirteenth.

gtho4 is two thirds of the way to a trifecta of spoons. ASA joined him with 3/9.

Out of a field of 16 tipsters, eleven scored a HoF. Not sure if this is a record, but it a rather stunning stat.

Two games had no successful tips, with Adelaide succumbing to Melbourne by a skinny margin, and this season's surprise packet, Gold Coast, thumping the Kangaroos in Melbourne. The Geelong Cats survived a dogged (haha) comeback by the Tigers to sneak home at the Cattery.
