Love the cycle and the Chevy!

C is for Cat, crunching on chicken-flavoured treats!

It was only natural that Precious would show up at least once in this theme, methinks. Though this is not the most flattering shot of her, it does show off her markings rather nicely, eh?

It does indeed, she is a pretty girl, and even when eating just seems to naturally pose.

C is for Coin
This is a coin I found as a child digging in the yard (about 2 inches down so it was most likely in the loam brought for use to plant the lawn in). It is 4mm in diameter, around 0.3 mm in thickness and I guess it is made of silver. The location on it is Hamburg and since it is a funf mark I also guess that is German. There is script around the edge. I have never cleaned it so this is how it looked coming out of the soil. The date is 1898. The condition is great. You can see individual bricks in the castle wall and make out a human outline on the eagle's shield, both places one would expect wear to occur if the coin was in daily circulation at all. Could any of you European members guess at a value for me?

Edit: stew pit American doesn't know the difference between cm and mm. Although a 4 mm diameter coin would be quite valuable, mine is much larger at 4 cm.

well "c" for crapolla, cuz I missed the month. All the shots were great. However, I just wanted to point out that Chav's "colour" photo was beautiful, frameable, sellable. Not sure if those last two are actual words, but maybe she needs to branch out with her talents : )

If you google that coin, Mehaul, you'll find a dealer's site which has a few coins like that. Value $50-80 depending on condition. Go back and dig around to find a 10 mark coin from Hamburg 1898 - that would be worth four or five times as much.

FM,
Thank you.

edition: I googled and found this on eBay -
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1898J-Germany-Ha...882#ht_62wt_925

The j mint mark is off image on mine, just below and center of the lions like in the ebay one.
Thanks again.

C continues to be for cute cat, courageously clambering over clumps of cold, colourless snow!

oh my, very good use of alliteration lol. I quite like her purple and blue gear, but also because she almost looks like a bobcat in the snow! Very nice.

lol you're too funny mehaul.
But speaking of custom canoes, I had to build a buoyant beast in one of my Outdoor Ed courses at university. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to keep them afterwards, sigh. (I do still wonder what the heck they did with them all over the years lol).
