I am not closing March yet so the slower areas can catch up.
Lets hope April springs us into action.

I was watching this shag a week ago when walking home from the museum, it was dinner time and it was catching fish when diving under the water. They can move very quickly underwater and I was trying to video it with the camera but tracking it was tricky. The shag being underwater and not me.:)

Here is another photo of our walk in the woods. Hard to find anything nicer than an old English wood on a lovely spring day.

"Roemer Square..."

Oh, that photo brings back happy memories. Spent three days in Frankfurt in 2000 and remember this square well. Have an almost identical photo of it too (but without the umbrellas).

I don't know what this tree is but from a distance the flowers look like grapes hanging from the branches.

It's a False Acacia aka Robinia Pseudoacacia aka Black Locust. Don't let your horse eat it.

Typical April look here in north Texas...

edit: this round stayed north of McKinney, where I was at the time. The second round hit about 7:15.

Here are some stats and pictures from the severe weather that did hit.

Thanks, flopsy. That may explain why I haven't sen any horses around the park.

Or not. smile

A lovely hot and muddy pool in the Government Gardens area, Rotorua. You cannot easily see it but the pool is bubbling away thanks to the geothermic activity in the Rotorua area.

what happens to the trees Howie, standing in hot mud like that. I suppose they are special varieties that can stand heat?

I don't think the trees are actually in the water itself but they must not mind a little heat....

Hi! This is one of the latest photos of our only female cat, Tiffany. Note her beautiful tail. She is a beautiful cat, but she barely tolerates the 5 male cats in our household.

Tiffany is beautiful! I'm sure she thinks the males are only there to do her bidding!

Actually Liz, she is a real little Witch when it comes to dealing with the rest of the four footed furry family. One of them is sporting a split ear courtesy of one of her temper tantrums....LOL

Timaru Lighthouse, came into operation in 1878 with a kerosene lamp and until 1970 was the main navigation light for the Timaru Harbour. Changed to gas in 1890, electricity in 1920 and a flashing light in 1948 before the decommissioning in 1970 when a new light was installed at Dashing Rocks. After being restored in 1980 it was moved to Maori Park and then in 2010 it was moved to Benvenue Cliffs (current position) to make way for the new aquatic centre.

I've just had my back garden landscaped. Fortunately the weather has been good so the work went well. Then I went out there with my trusty spade, some horticultural grit, a bag of compost, and a load of plants and naturally the heavens opened. Anyway, this is work in progress, supervised by my wicker man.
