Has any serious scholarly work been done to explain the high rates of divorce and re-marriage among celebrities? Some celebrities seem to get through spouses at an amazing rate.

Maybe there are just as many among the non celebrities but the Press are of the mistaken opinion that one gives a damn.

Perhaps, but four to eight marriages plus takes some beating. It's about on a par with Henry VIII, though without the beheadings.

I'm wondering how much they really trust one another...

If you look at Norman Lloyd or Art Linkletter, both of their marriages lasted a long time.

I think, probably because of the nature of the beast and the circus in which they work, that the average celebritie has a rather giant ego and with a focus entirely on his or herself.

That is not an ideal ingredient in a happy marriage.

A lot more temptation than most of us face, also.

It's a lot easier to stay faithful, for example, when no one in particular but our spouses are all that interested in sleeping with us....
