PaulE jumps up into second .. and he's 5˝ points in front of third. Dizart moves up into third spot on a countback from BxBarracuda. In other words, the peleton is now a mammoth 12 pts behind the leader.
N-Bomb was the other winner for the round and wwe84 collected the solitary wooden spoon.
KrivoyRog was the only player to pick the win by Nigeria, and no-one picked the draw between Germany and Ghana. Everyone now has a weekly win or a spoon or a bonus point, except for srini701. He has three blanks in those columns.

. We have a runaway .. illiniman14 scores yet another weekly and has now skipped away to an outrageous lead of 16 pts! That's an entire round of 8/8 correct picks and all by a #1 seed. We've had 48 games after 6 rounds .. and he has correctly picked 31 of them!
He missed the win by Germany. If he'd gone with the form-guide he would've scored another 2 points for the pick of a win by a #1 seed; and then another bonus pt for perfect picks .. which would've placed him 19 points in front of second! Those of us in the peleton, who are close enough to see his rear end on the horizon, will soon need a pair of binoculars.

How do the picks work for the knockout rounds? Are there still draws, and if so, is it "tied after 90 minutes" or "tied after extra time"? At the end of the 90 minutes Reminder: our picks are the same for the KO rounds .. it's a win or a draw .. extra time
and penalty shoot-out lotteries are ignored (as per first post in this thread).

. It's all over, Germany are world champions for the 4th time. It was a scoreless draw at full-time .. the winner came in the 2nd period of extra time, seven minutes from the end.
There was no change out front .. the three leaders all retained their positions (they've had those spots since the quarter-finals). Sypher was one of the four winners for the final round, but it wasn't enough to bridge the gap and move him up the podium positions, as all his points came from the advance pick.
The other winners were N-Bomb, Lpez & dg_dave (they also scored zero for their three picks in the final round .. N-Bomb scored default for those three) i.e. the four winners were the four who picked the winner with their advance pick.
Everybody from the winner down to dg_dave in 14th place had a win during the comp except for the defending titleholder, Howie72, who finished in 8th place *without* a win.
There were six spoons in the final round with 1/8 .. and four players above dg_dave went through the comp spoon-less.
