A gannet is a very beautiful, but greedy British sea bird. It is also a very greed person!

My stark landscaped garden decided to grow and now it looks like this:

Poor mum needs a bra! The baby will be two in September and is fairly independent these days, playing roly poly down the hill was amusing. smile

The Isle of Wight has a train service which runs from Ryde to Shanklin and uses old railway
stock from the London Underground. This one has just left Ryde pier head so will be carrying
passengers from the Portsmouth to Ryde ferry.

I was talking to a friend of mine about tubs and planters and she said that a friend of hers, who does plants for exhibitions, told her that the secret to having a professional display was Bacopa. I'd never heard of it but after a quick google I went in search of some at the garden centre but of course it was far too early in the year. I looked, I waited, I fretted... and suddenly there it was, Bacopa cordata. I phoned my friend that evening and said I'd bought some Bacopa and she owed me £82. "How much?" she shrieked. Well, £7 for the Bacopa and £75 for all the other things I bought while I was there. Garden centres... the sure way to drain someone's bank balance. laugh

Part of my history so another view of Henlys Corner, from the north, showing the new filters they put in recently which hold the traffic up in different places from before and probably cost a fortune doing so. It's where Finchley Road crosses the North Circular Road in Finchley, 7 miles north of London.

Gosh . it looks lovely Flopsy. I have this vague memory (shut up you) that Bacopa is good for your brain. No time to google it at the moment.

Well, Oliver died last night frown Just too sick in the end but we gave him every chance we could. But he did spend the last couple of days with Chip (he'd go to his own pen at night) and they'd even nap together which was a cute as it sounds. Didn't get a photo of that but did get this as they went off to explore together.

Oh that is such a shame, but at least you know you did the best you possibly could for him and his last days were spent being loved and comfortable.

Aww, I'm sorry about Oliver. *sniff*

As for Ren's brain needing some Bacopa, I shall say nothing in case she's taken some and remembers where her Mod powers are. wink

Last seen undergoing a scorched earth attack by men with machines, this is my new front garden. Still a bit scorched but now it's because we haven't had any rain for ages!

I'm sure most people know my collection of old road sign photos, I've been doing it over six years now and covered a 50 mile range of home, and imagine the reaction last night when I decided to go one block further home from Barnet just in case anything was there and this surfaced right in front of me. I'd even Streetviewed the road and missed it, and there may only be a few left in Britain, and none within a couple of hundred miles I know of. It is pretty much like finding a massive diamond or gold nugget to a prospector, to put it into context it is only the third sign with a red triangle I've got in the whole of London, although there were thousands with plenty right up to the 70s I never thought to take.

nice find, SatG and your garden is lovely, Flopsey. do you mean it isn't very green because that front bit will be grass one day?

Here's Chip having a snooze on Conor's boot. And yes, he is a real porker!

No grass; there was grass there before and it was a nightmare to manage - the ground slopes in two directions and it was so hard to mow. So while I live here the mulch will remain though I designed the garden so that if someone wanted to re-turf it would be easy to do. However I did scatter some wildflower seeds across there, with a bit of soil and some crossed fingers - but it has been so dry I suspect my visions of poppies cascading down the slope won't come to anything.

That puppy is... round! grin

So sorry about Oliver.

This is the rear wall of a temple in Hong Kong. We found it when we wandered into a park near our hotel. Loved the effect of the lights on the bas relief. (Picture was taken at dusk, just when it was getting dark).

Another photo from my visit to Osbourne House, Isle of Wight. This is Queen Victoria's bathing
machine, a device used on the beach to preserve a lady's dignity at a time when the glimpse
of a bare ankle was deemed to be too risqué.
