The Rules
1. Everyone will pick 5 golfers.

2. We may have a maximum of 2 golfers from the top 10 of world rankings as of June 1, 2014 in our fivesomes. The current top 10 is:

*- Because Tiger Woods is sitting out again, we bring in the #11 golfer to make an actual top 10.

3. The lowest 4 total scores from each tipper’s fivesome will be added together to make the final score, and the lowest total score wins.

4. If one of your golfers fails to make the cut, his score from the first two rounds will be doubled to account for his final two rounds.
-A golfer must finish the first two rounds in order for his score to be counted towards the total

Tiebreaker
The lowest score from each tipper’s fifth golfer will serve as the tiebreaker. Should that be the same, it will go to the fourth-highest score and so on.

*- Howie72 won the second tiebreaker over wwe84. They had the same 5th golfer (Zach Johnson), and Howie72’s 4th golfer (Brendon Todd) had a 284 to wwe84’s 4th golfer’s (Rory McIlroy) 286.

**- paper_aero lost the first tiebreaker between the top 3. His fifth golfer (Luke Donald) shot a 292 [cut at 146] to Howie72 and wwe84’s (Zach Johnson) 289.

Our comp had far more drama than the actual US Open, as Howie72 comes out on top after a 3-way tie! Congratulations! Martin Kaymer ran away with the tournament by 8 strokes, so it is no surprise that the 3 tippers that chose Kaymer made up the podium. However, what is very surprising is that they all ended up getting the exact same total from their top 4 golfers. paper_aero and wwe84 actually had the same top 4 golfers, while Howie72 also shared Adam Scott with the two. Unfortunately for paper_aero, his 5th golfer, Luke Donald, was cut at 146 for a doubled 292, while Howie72 and wwe84 both had Zach Johnson shoot a 289 as their fifth. On the second tiebreaker, Howie72 beat out wwe84 as the former’s 4th golfer Brendon Todd (who he took a flyer on as a “complete outsider”) shot a 284 compared to wwe84’s 4th golfer Rory McIlroy, who shot a 286. The US Open itself was... a bit of a bore. Martin Kaymer came out shooting -5 and had a 3-stroke lead after Thursday. He repeated the performance on Friday, sitting at -10 while Brendon Todd sat in 2nd place at -4, and Howie72 was sitting pretty. However, Todd shot +9 on Saturday while Kaymer only came back to the field by 2 strokes. With a -1 on Sunday, Kaymer finished at -9, while only Erik Compton and Rickie Fowler were under par out of the entire field at -1. This part of the review is normally reserved for a review of the dramatics of the tournament, but there were none. So, we look at the other tippers in the comp. illiniman14 came the closest to the Kaymer trio at 9 shots back, with his scores ranging from only 281-283. N-Bomb’s top 3 golfers beat illiniman14’s by 2 strokes, but his 4th shot a 290, leaving him 5 shots back with an 1134 in 5th. Slightly back was a tie between gillyharold and Sypher, who shared only Hideki Matsuyama. gillyharold had 3 unique golfers from all other tippers – Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, and Brandt Snedeker. And with that, we look forward to the British Open starting on July 17 at Royal Liverpool!
