Born 23rd March 1929, this British doctor made sporting history.

War_Wizard, I think the answer you're looking fo is Dale Earnhardt Sr., but you know what? That would be wrong! Indy driver Wilbur Shaw was on the Wheaties box in 1936! Check it out at http://www.wheaties.com
Peace, Tim

I think this just might be Sir Donald Bradman. His domination of international cricket tends to make us forget that he was pretty good at other sports as well.

OK I'll have another go!!

This American Olympian won two gold medals.

Over almost 10 years of competition he won over 100 races without defeat in his event.

When he died at the age of 24, this athlete held every American distance running record from 2000 to 10,000 meters and from 2 to 6 miles. He's considered by many to be the greatest American middle distance runner who ever lived.

Name the only Olympic 800 meter champion to have run his gold medal race wearing a golf cap.

Oh, yeah. And Pre was the correct answer to the last one.

izzi, Dave Wottle is correct for my previous question. Nice job! I admired Wottle greatly back then, not only for his athletic ability but also for his keen sense of fashion!
