This year's FT-PL comp will be the 12th edition of this head-to-head tipping comp. For those of us who are unfamiliar with this comp, it's a round-robin league system where everybody plays everybody else twice (aka home and away) .. everyone picks the 10 weekly games played in the FA Premier League. It's a head-to-head contest where the winner receives 3 pts and it's one point each for a draw .. aka if you pick 8/10 and your opponent picks 6/10, you win and collect the 3 pts. Whoever has the most pts at the end of the season is the winner!
This year's comp runs for more than 9 months from Saturday 16th August 2013 to Sunday 26th May 2015 .. the FA have now extended the season to the last weekend in May! Unlike the last few years, we will tip all 38 FAPL rounds played (which allows us to increase the number of runners from 18 to 20). In prior years we ran with a field of 18 and omitted the two rounds that straddled New Year's Eve, and the weekends with the FA Cup quarter-finals and semi-finals.
The field is limited to a maximum of 20 runners and, unlike other comps in here, where you may simply post your picks in the first tipping thread *or* sign-in, you must sign in, here in this thread, to enter this comp, so that the weekly head-to-head fixtures can be put together. If less than 20 sign-up, that's the field. If more than 20 apply, preference will be given to the tipsters who sign-in first *and* have previously played in a season-long FT tipping comp, as follows:[ A ] all of the 18 tipsters who played in last year's comp.
[ B ] players who've participated in an entire season long tipping comp.
[ C ] anyone who has participated in two or more FT tipping comps.
[ D ] everybody else including first-timers. To allow time for the weekly schedule of who's-playing-who to be, firstly, put together and, secondly, posted in the tipping threads, the deadline for signing-up is midnight FT time on Thursday 31st July .. there's a grace period of 2 or 3 hours, but please don't push your luck past that. Creating the weekly round-robin schedule does take time. Please note that, as there are no byes in this head-to-head comp, we must have an even number of contestants. If we have less than 20 players sign-up and it's an odd number, sign-up will be left open and the next person to sign-in is it, that's the field. If no one signs-in after 3 days (by midnight FT time Saturday 2nd August) the sequence A to D will will be used to exclude one player!
The defending titleholder is illiniman14, who won it from PaulE in the last week of the season .. Dizart finished 3rd for bronze. To see all the medallists in the 11 previous comps: click on the HoF link in the top LH corner.

We now have 15 who are back for another dose. We need one more to make it an even number. If no-one else joins we will run with a bye, and the bye will be the average score of the other 14 players, ignoring any fractions aka rounded down (i.e. excluding the person who's playing against the bye). If anyone would like to join after the comp starts, they can have the spot occupied by the bye. illiniman14
