Please check out the Beatles quiz by Frankies Fan - it states incorrectly that the Beatles manager, Brian Epstein, was shot by police. I submitted a correction but it has not been changed. I cant believe that no one else caught this. I think the quiz editor has Mr. Epstein confused with someone else. I believe its common knowledge that Brian Epstein died of a drug overdose. Also, those who create fill in the blank questions should make certain that they have the correct spelling in their answer. I just took a Saturday Night Live quiz in which Mike Myers was the correct answer but because the editor spelled his name incorrectly (Meyers) I got it wrong. So quiz editors, PLEASE, if you get a correction notice, take the time to make certain that your answer is correct and check your spelling in those fill in the blanks! Thanks for letting me vent.

Hi msgene.....I also submitted a correction on that Beatles quiz AND I can't even count the number of answers I've gotten wrong because I spelled the answer correctly, but the quizmaster had it spelled wrong. I usually submit a correction, and I try to be nice about it.....given the limited space we have to plead our case, it isn't always easy. At this point, my attitude is, just let it go, since there are no prizes involved, and it's just for fun. I had to re-register the other day when my username and password ceased to be recognized, so all my scores went *POOF* anyway.

What is the Quiz ID of the one in question? Gunslinger's going to need that info to help you out further (it's the name in the parentheses).

Also, it's important that you do keep sending notices if you notice something that's incorrect in a quiz. We want to have the quizzes in as much tip top shape as possible - having quizzes that are not correct doesn't help anyone. There are plenty of websites out there with quizzes that no one has taken the initiative on or cares enough about to make sure they're correct. We want our site to be different. When you play a Quizzyland quiz, you should be assured that you're getting a well done (and well edited) quiz.

If you notice that, even after submitting a correction notice, the quiz is not changed, do exactly what you did this time. Bring it up in this forum.

As you mentioned, it is important to be courteous when making these suggestions. Submitting a nice correction notice only helps the quiz creator and the quiz player.

Do be sure to post the ID, though. It'll help Gunslinger to not have to wade through all of them to find the one you're talking about.

msgene, I pulled the quiz off-line. I changed the 'shot by police' answer to 'drug overdose', but the FITB one on Lennon's Green Card # simply has to go. Not too fond of the other one, either. This is the hazard one faces with using FITB's.

I had the Beatles quiz in question confused with another, I think. I went back to find the Quiz I.D. and when I read the question, it was about The Beatles 'Road' Manager, not their Manager, Brian Epstein. Mal Evans was indeed, shot by the police. I should have checked to make sure I had the right quiz before jumping in. I thought I'd better point this out before something was said to the person who created the quiz, and I hope I'm not too late! As for that green card question, Gunslinger, that's another story!!!!

Also, Linda1, I didn't mean to imply that I stopped sending corrections if I found anything wrong. I just meant I used to get bent if I had something correct, and the quiz maker had the wrong answer, but I've gotten over it, since it IS only a game. Sorry about the confusion.

OK. If I can get a consensus on WHAT, pray tell, is the correct answer to the question (WHO was the question about, and how did he die?) I'll change it again.

Im so sorry I started all this. I believe the original question asked how did the Beatles manager die? I took it for granted that it was Brian Epstein. It could be that perhaps the quiz creator changed the question to Road Manager after he received some corrections OR it could just be that I misread the question (I tend to read quickly - Its quite possible I just omitted the word Road in my mind. Ive gotten other questions wrong because I didnt read as carefully as I should). As far as the FIB regarding John Lennons green card number, well, thats another story (this probably should have been multiple choice). I feel bad if the quiz got pulled because of me & apologize to the editor. The Beatles Road Manager was shot; their main manager, Brian Epstein, died of a drug overdose. I hope that we will soon be able to reply to those who think enough of our quizzes to compliment, suggest & correct us soon (I believe this technology is in the near future.)
