Tipping Competition

A-League football (soccer) is back for another year, so get your names down for another lucky dip.

Rules

[*] Threads will close prior to the start of the first game.
[*] A bonus point will be awarded for a perfect score.
[*] A bonus point will also be awarded for anyone that tips a result solo.
[*] Ties will be broken in the following order
1)- HoF/Spoon differential
2)- Most Hall of Fame awards
[*] Picks of all home games will be penalised a point. Rule scrapped by popular request.
[*] Default will be equal to the lowest score each round.
[*] Late starters will be given a score equivalent to the last-placed active tipster.

First round starts Friday, October 10, and fixtures will be posted very soon. Most rounds will kick off on Friday evening, and threads will close just prior to that time. Games will be posted this weekend.

Welcome to Round 1 of the A-League tipping comp for summer, 2014-15, and we are off to our usual lousy start.
There were three HoF awards handed out. wwe84, srini701 and N-Bomb all managed 3/5, and there were five spooners, all with 1/5.
I reckon that we should all be thankful to Michael Duke, for saving us from total embarrassment. Who is he, I hear you ask? He is the striker that scored a goal in the 93rd minute, to get Central Coast over the line. Without him, out combined percentage would have been only 20% 16.67%.

On reflection, our Round 1 scores were pretty good- this week, we only managed 11 points! That is a strike ratio of 18.3%.
The three (golden) spoons all went to last week's winners, and the two HoFs (with a massive 2/5) went to last week's losers. Most of the tipsters in the middle last week, stayed in roughly the same spot.
Out of all the carnage, srini701 stands supreme, but how long can he hang on?
I wonder how we will go next week....

The scheduled game between Western Sydney and Central Coast has been deferred as the Warriors played in the Asian Cup. The match will now be played on November 19.
Even with only four games, we managed to pick 25 winners. 52% is a very good result!
srini701 is still the leader, thanks to a HoF score of 3/4. Howie72 and Sypher also top-scored and remain in equal second spot. They were the only three players that did not change position from last week.
Two spoons were handed out, with the lucky recipients being wwe84 and gtho4.

The Warriors played the return leg of the Asia Cup, and beat the Saudi champs on aggregate. I live right in the centre of Wanderer's territory, and half of Sydney was covered in red and black. Not bad for a team that has only been in existence for less than three years! It also meant that their game against Brisbane was held back. It will be added into the appropriate future round.
We are starting to hit our straps, tipping-wise, scoring 34/48, over 70%!
Sypher picked the card and jumped into first spot. illniman14 also went perfect and is now in second place.
srini701 lost his lead by spooning, with 2/4. He was joined in Cutlery Corner by ozzz2002, FussBudget and BxBarracuda.
EVERY tipster either moved up or down; nobody stayed in the same spot as last week.

Back to normal. We picked 13/60, just a tad over 20%, a far cry from 70% last week.
The best scorers this week did not get past halfway, whilst the worst scorers did not even get started.
Sypher went perfect last week, but this week he scored zero. He now shares the lead with illiniman14 and HoF-er srini701. George95, BxBarracuda and gtho4 also got an award and moved up a couple of spots.
FussBudget and ozzz2002 scored nuffin, and headed south.
