About to walk down the steps of the Piazza at Caroline Bay in Timaru. The Trevor Griffiths Rose Garden is at the bottom and the Port Loop Road on the other side.

A better view of the falls. The place where the boats take you is on the extreme left.

You know those beautiful photos? The studied images with a single droplet of water on a leaf reflecting the lovely flower above? If you almost close your eyes and squint you'll see that this is one of those photos - only it rained rather more than one droplet!

Very nice damp flower picture. Beware of over-watering. smile

Another photo from my wandering last week, this is an exact replica of The Matthew
(apart from the engine they fitted & the up to date navigation equipment.)

These photos (or some very much like them) might well appear in photo quiz soon.
Just a little heads-up. smile

The inscription on one of the towers of the Clifton Suspension bridge reads 'SUSPENSA FIX VIA
FIT' which as we all know from our Latin lessons translates as 'A suspended way made with
difficulty'.

Looking forward to those photos! The moon was very beautiful indeed last night. It rose with a remarkable pink/golden glow and then shone as bright as silver. I wished I had been able to take a photo.

While I am here, an Autumnal pic?.. this is of the forest floor a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how blurry it is, sorry if it is!.. it is quite cropped and everything looks OK on a tiny screen...but that knocked over toadstool was small too, and I liked the curled edges.

Thanks for the heads up!! smile Look forward to the quiz, will you remember to post a link here please?!

The Matthew replica sailed over to visit Dublin a few years ago. It looked beautiful in the bay, but it is so tiny -- considering. It is amazing to imagine anyone heading off on a daring voyage in it. Mind blowing really.

Nice photo. smile

As I thought, my camera was not even close to being good enough to get anything closely resembling a poor photo of the total eclipse.

This is the full moon before the total lunar eclipse started.

Worth waiting for, Howie! Beautiful. And of course you will have another chance at the eclipse in a few months. At least you got to see this one, which I didn't. And each one is different.

According to http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/10/141008-blood-moon-lunar-eclipse-space-science/ ..."There's no way to tell what color the moon will turn in advance. You just have to watch and enjoy..."

I do have more photos as the eclipse was progressing, just when it got to being a total eclipse the photos are not very good but I will show some of them over the coming week. I was lucky the cloud disappeared and it was a beautiful clear night.

Thank you. I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't be there when I went looking for it.

I'll try to remember to post a link to the quiz when I write it. Don't hold your breath though, I'm notoriously slow when it comes to writing quizzes. wink

A spot I've passed all my life that's hardly changed, the bus stand on Muswell Hill roundabout, and my late grandma's bus home.

Did you get the blood moon there, Howie? Looked great here.

Interesting photos as usual. Have been away for a week and was really busy this week.
Here's Chip looking all grown up. his Mum have him a bit of a nip which explains the little scar on his nose. He's about six months old now.
