I used a different search method online and as a result found this very quickly. It's pre national issue when they became unified in the 30s, before then the bridge makers made the signs, ie the railways, waterways and councils. This is Victorian based on the existing town clerk of the day and in Palmers Green.

Caroline Bay in Timaru today - a very pleasant 26C/79F Spring day, perfect for a walk by the ocean.

I don't think I have posted a delightful goldfinch for a while. This one was enjoying the Timaru spring sunshine a week or so ago. Definitely would have needed to be wearing a jacket or raincoat this afternoon.

This photo is from 2005 I think, before I had a digital camera. It is part of the MacKenzie Pass road between Albury and Burkes Pass inland from Timaru which bypasses Fairlie.

Another view of the Clifton Suspension bridge showing one of the walkways for pedestrians.
Note the high fence designed to prevent people taking the quick way down to the river below.
Sadly too many have taken that route in the past...

I got a nice new, more efficient, furnace yesterday. Just in time too, as the lovely autumn weather we've been having has turned rainy and cool in the last couple of days.

This is the old furnace, sitting outside in the rain awaiting removal!

The River Mole at Cobham

My old boiler was dumped outside by the back door and took me ages to remove piece by piece as at the time the council wouldn't take the big stuff. It brought back memories.

I like to have a wander round Antique Fairs and Flea Markets. I picked up this walking stick at one last week, I liked the carving on the handle

Love that view Howie. Rockin Germany indeed with photos like that. smile

This is an historic pub in Bristol, The Llandoger Trow. It's said to have links to both Treasure
Island and Robinson Crusoe & it used to be nearly twice the size but was hit by a bomb during
WW2. They managed to save the rest of the building. It was built in 1664 so this is its 350th
anniversary. Birthdays cards to The Llandoger Trow, Bristol, England please.

We often have blue jays visiting the garden, but they are very shy and quite hard to get a photo of. I managed to grab this one through the kitchen window.
