They use regular highland pipes in their bagads
, but they also have the local Breton pipes, called biniou
, which look like the ones here
. Note, there is only one drone, the blowpipe and chanter are tiny. The player holds the bag high up under their arm with their hands on the chanter not far from their chins!
Nowadays there's a whole percussion section also, symbals, a variety of drums, and all sorts of other instruments are often seen in the line up (clarinet, sax, ...)
