Sad news indeed. I was very fond of his music in the 60s, and I was delighted when he reappeared on radio in the early 80s in a programme on BBC Radio 2 from the old paddle-steamer in the Bristol Floating Harbour (usually featuring a song from Fred Wedlock).

'Stranger on the Shore' is a beautiful piece of music, and Mr Acker Bilk will always be remembered for it.
