I submitted a quiz about JRR Tolkien to the Authors-General category, but had to move it to the People-Writers category.
I have no problem doing that, but I am just curious as to how can we tell which category is appropriate?
Just one of those curious little quirks maybe?
thanks

As I understand it:

If it's about the book written by a particular author, it goes to Books.

If it's about the author of the book it goes to People.

The Authors-General sub-category is for quizzes on books by several different authors.
Often there can be a quiz on a topic that fits into more than one category. The quiz maker can send such a quiz to a category and the editor can make the decision to place it elswhere if appropriate. In this case it is as Cris says quizzes that are mostly about the life of a specific author, rather than about their works go into the People-Writers category. This is why I sent your Tolkien quiz there. However, as there is a Tolkien sub-category under Science Fiction and Fantasy, your quiz could also go in there.
