Always happy to see a New York pic!
This is a new mural/wall hanging inside an old shelter. In Victorian or Edwardian days, a few simple small shelters were put up beside the pier for weary walkers. They are like small bus shelters but completely enclosed. For decades they have served no purpose but as a useful place for drunks etc, so were locked up and allowed to slowly rot away. Recently the council painted them up and added attractive murals to the back walls and although they have to remain locked up, at least they aren't being allowed to decay, and they are a lovely feature now.
So..old shelter but NEW mural.
