I can't see what the fuss is about, I edit photos all the time and the one they used was simply lightblown, meaning the sun had overwhelmed the lens and meant about half the picture was wiped out as overexposed. Therefore the original blue/black picture we were shown was simply faded to such an extent half the pigment was missing, something most programs will return close to reality with a slider, but they didn't do.
Therefore using a flat screen it looks blue and light brown straight on, but paler blue and beige when slanting a little. It is not an optical illusion but a feature of flat screens and if you simply tilt it a little and back you'll see it gradually morph from one to the other.
Problem solved!
