Has anyone been able to play any quizzes today because whenever I try to enter the members area or any categories on the home page, it says the database is out of service. It might only be me, though.

Quizzyland seems to have been down since early this morning. Terry must be on vacation, the only time this seems to happen, is when Terry has the nerve to leave town.

Well, it seems to be working for me now. I guess it was just a little blurb in the network.

mirkmerk, there's no need to delete this topic as it is a valid one. Quizzyland has been down today. Others may like to know that what they are experiencing is not unique to their computer (ie, there is nothing wrong with their system), so it is good that we have a thread explaining that this is something we are all experiencing at the moment.

Please do not demand that threads be deleted. Threads are deleted, as necessary, at the discretion of the moderators. (Besides, even if you could request a thread's deletion, did you forget the "magic word"?! )

Sorry, Linda1, it was my stupidity again to even do that. I have edited that post and am going to edit all my other posts with "DELETE THIS TOPIC". Man, what a dumb thing to do. Sure it was a year and a half ago, but sheesh.

Funny as though I'm no Harry Potter or anything, but my mother taught me those magic words early, and I taught them to my own kids. The day you see me use all caps is rare, except for an occasional YES! for a big event.
Yesterday I welcomed many many new people looking for information on the server problem and discovering the forums for the first time. It shows that quizzyland has become a great place to be and we're all happy to be here for the most part, and some of us took it in our stride and joked about it once it was confirmed that the server was indeed having troubles.
I answered many people's PMs and messages here for that question.
I guess most people chose to discover the forums and what they have to offer while waiting.

Had the games not been off I would not be writing here now, as i only came onto fun trivia for the games.

However I have found this part of the site interesting and some good topics have been discussed.

I like the signature, mirmerk.

The magic word they meant was "please." As in, "Please delete this topic as the problem is solved" is much more polite than simply "DELETE THIS TOPIC."

Man, I feel so stupid to even consider deleting a thread. And I feel so stupid for bumping this thread all those times in the first place.

It's just one of those mom things that we do when our kids forget...don't worry about it.
I used to tell my toddlers, "what do we say to the nice lady?"
And they'd look at me like I was off the wall.

Or when we say, "We don't hit Jordan with the shovel in the sandbox, do we?"
