Hi everyone, I've been on the full site for around a month now, although I have played in a local private tournament for a number of years. Absolutely love all the games on the site and I'm looking forward to authoring some quizzes after getting my first one published earlier this week. The talent shown on this site whether it be from badges, challenges or quizzes is astounding! I hope to contribute on here from time to time Jelly x

Welcome to the forums.
Which part of Yorkshire? I was born in Halifax but no longer live there, we moved when I was a baby. My daughter currently lives in Sheffield.

Welcome! My daughter is in Hunters Bar What does the "Bar" mean in place names in England? I've heard of a Potters Bar too.

Somewhere in the deepest darkest annuls of my brain is hidden the vague idea that is connected to toll gates and toll roads that were sites for collecting funds, maybe by the Romans. Ask a historian specialising in British History, because those annuls are, in effect, very deep and unreliable.

In the U.S. it is kind of an area in a lake or river which is raised up a bit. While boating, its is wise to know where the bars are or you will hit them with your motor.
