As Quizzyland grows, so grows the editorial staff. We are currently in need of a few new editors in the 'Music', 'Sports' and 'For Children' categories. Perhaps one in For Children, one or two for 'Sports' and 2-3 for 'Music.'
Please read carefully:
NOTE: All editors must be 18 yrs of age or over. FT policy prohibits using minors in any staff capacity.
Editors must be completely fluent in and have excellent grasp of the English language; both the 'American' version and the so-called 'British' version (as spoken/written/spelled in the UK, Australia/New Zealand and other venues, including the Canadian variants, which are a combination.
Fluency in English must include knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation and sentence structure as well as the proper use and placement of quotation marks, parenthetical phrasing and other such nuances of the language.
It's an entirely voluntary position and the candidate should plan on editing at least 2-3 hours per week or more, depending upon the needs of the queues awaiting action.
The successful candidate will have created at least 4 or more (more is better) quizzes which have been accepted and are currently on line.
You must be forum-registered to be considered, preferably with the same screen name as you use in Quizzyland, although this can be adjusted. Candidates will be screened and selected by the senior editorial staff, including the leading editors in the categories being considered. Those selected will be afforded access to the editing areas of the categories assigned, as well as access to the Editors' and Guidelines Forums. A period of training with an experienced training editor will ensue where the rules and procedures will be explained, as well as the methods and guidelines needed to edit quizzes.
Those wishing to apply for consideration as an editor should write to me at my e-mail address in the 'profile' by-line above. All will receive replies, but of course all cannot be selected. If you are not selected in the 'first draft' rounds, but not rejected, you would certainly be considered when other openings occur.
