Are scrambles and anagrams allowed, only in certain subjecte and/or sub-catergories. Or are they not allowed at all? Just wondering.

I don't believe any of the categories accept scrambles quizzes at this point, simply because it was so easy for people to create spam out of them. I'm sure someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong here.

I cannot speak for other categories, but anagrams are not specifically excluded from Sports. I would strongly discourage their use in Sports (I am an editor there), because I regard them as a 'weak' filler-type question.

Generally scrambles are not allowed in all categories. However, I do occasionally allow an ANAGRAM quiz in the categories I edit. Anyone can do a scramble and we don't want to be flooded with those type of quizzes. However, an anagram, where the letters of a word or words, are mixed to make another word or words, require a little more thought. I have just put a Harry Potter anagram quiz online. As well as being anagrams and not scrambles, information is given about the characters whose names have been turned into anagrams.

For Television, I would do the same as Minch suggests. If we were to take an anagram quiz, it must have at least 10 questions and all must have interesting info. But we'd welcome a sane amount... However, the latest 'anagram' quizzes that I have seen submitted were actually just scramble quizzes.

Scrambles are verboten in the categories I edit (Animals, Brain Teasers, Environment, Health, Science, technology). Anagrams are not banned from Brain Teasers if they are clever and well-done, but I rarely see a good one.

Minch, the Harry Potter quiz is there, it's what made me ask this question in the first place, you're right it is a good quiz that's why I wanted to know the answer to this question, because I didn't want it to get the axe.
