If you've seen the ad with the family traveling on a long trip and they suddenly break into a rendition of the beginning of Weezer's "Buddy Holly" and want to sing along, I went to www.lyricsfreak.com and copied the first verse and part of the refrain. I'll consider it my good deed for the day.

I just heard the ad again. It is for Honda automobiles.

That site has the second sentence wrong. It's "Why do they gotta front".

Ten times listening and I hear 'got up front'. Sounds near to gotta but I don't hear a 'ah' syllable but I do hear a P sound. My album liner doesn't have the words as many do. Is there a bouncing ball sing-a-long out there?

I do wonder why Honda chose that particular bit of music? It does refer to homies who are getting violent for some reason. That could be adding fuel to the fires burning around American race relations. Does Buddy Holly and Mary Tyler Moore refer to white privilege I wonder.

I hear ya on the lyrics sounding different, but 'got up front' makes no sense. 'gotta front' makes complete sense. In any case, look at just about any other lyrics site and you'll find they have it listed as "gotta". For example:
