Well, Maynooth FINALLY picked up my copy of "Go Set a Watchman" this week from my favourite bookshop in town. After a late night last night, I slept in this morning, then woke up and lay in bed reading it for a few hours. It's now 11.40 a.m. and I've just got up - what decadence!

Anyway, I am halfway through the book and, while I am enjoying it, there's a nagging little voice in my head saying that the style of writing is not the same as TKAMB. I have a feeling Harper Lee did not write this - I think it is likely she created a rough draft of it to start with but someone else has finished it - but perhaps I should reserve judgement until I have read the whole thing.

Has anybody else had the same feeling?

It's a rough draft that became To Kill a Mockingbird. Reread some more, you will find passages that show up in Mockingbird word for word.

Which ones? Haven't come across any that I recognise so far.

Her description of Aunt Alexandra corset for one. I think some were mentioned in the Book Club thread where the book was being discussed. It's been a few weeks since I read it and I don't remember exact quotes any more.
