Hey Flopsy, you could have posted that in the monthly theme thread since it's red (LOL).

Whilst in Litchfield National Park, we came across a colony of bats (commonly known as flying foxes).

Martin, the shape of the Vulcan and age are very close to my broken bike saddle. I figure it was made in the mid 60s! Mine has been grounded and replaced by a newer version (hardly used from about 1990). The old saddle didn't want to come off easily after 50+ years in place. I had to take my tin knockers hammer to coax it off its mounting post. Then I removed the accessories from the metal column. That metal pipe amazed me. It was a 0.75 inch diameter 2 inch long piece welded to a 1.0 inch diameter 10 inch long pipe (which required a pair of vice grips, some machine oil and a half hour of wiggle/turn pull, wiggle turn twice pull...). Then look over the 'new' saddle and find out it wants to be mounted on a 1.0 inch pipe. I think, "No problem. I'll just turn the pipe over, insert it so the 0.75 inch bit is at the bottom." But Noooo! the weld to join the two dissimilar diameter pipes has a diameter that exceeds the 1.0 inch inside diameter of the frame post so it won't go in that way. I finally figured out that I could swivel the seat mount 90 degrees and insert the mount pipe down essentially from the top and then rotate it back the 90 degrees and Boom!, I now had the 'new' saddle mounted on a nice 1.0 inch pipe. Tighten all the bolts, replace my red LED tail light and security chain, drink a Busch beer and pass out because this all took place in 95F heat indexed at over 100F. Today I took it for a test run of a couple of miles and all was comfortable. I might try sloping the seat front up a notch in a few days once I've rehydrated. Adit: In this angle and light/shadow, the seat shape reminds me of a hound dog had.

May I use the image posting allowed here to post a screenshot example of a problem I raised on the "mobile modifications" thread?
Edited by flopsymopsy (Thu Aug 13 2015 02:41 PM) Edit Reason: to remove screenshot

I can't say I have had fried green tomatoes, though I've seen the movie. Did you know a panelist on Match Game in the 70's wrote the novel that the movie is based upon?

Meanwhile I'm going to have to take that screenshot down. Heck, I go out to do some yard work and miss the good stuff.

Er, I don't know what Match Game is, I am an 'umble Brit and we were deprived of such shows. For which I'm always grateful - until they come up in an FT quiz! Have you heard the name Fannie Flagg, flopsy? Did they not have a version of Match Game over there? They do have an equivalent to Family Feud called Family Fortunes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fannie_Flagg
