I thought I'd just pass on this interesting observation...

The audience for some of the quizzes you guys write is far larger than you'd ever imagine.

Particularly at this time of year when school is in session, we get entire classes of students playing quizzes on the site.

For example, I just watched as 70 different people played the quiz "Can you read a doctor's script?" within a 15 minute window.

http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/SciTech/Can-You-Read-A-Doctors-Script-62969.html

And, quiz "Lab Safety Rules" has been played over 200 times within the past week, so I expect it has been selected for some curriculum as a suggested quiz to have students take.

http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/ForChildren/Lab-Safety-Rules-273737.html

And right now I see a class of K12 students taking "US History Topic Mash". That's 30 people playing it.

Imagine the troubles Geography classes will have over the change in Mt. McKinley's name!

I've often wondered about this, as I've noticed large numbers of guest players taking particular quizzes of mine in the past. Having them used as a teaching aid makes sense of this phenomenon.

I've noticed large numbers of guest players taking some of my Holocaust quizzes, in particular. Sometimes the 'plays' are spread out over a few hours, so I assume these quizzes are set or recommended as homework rather than taken in class.

Sometimes, too, a significant number of guest players (e.g. ten or so) take the same quiz over a very short period. That could be the same phenomenon, or it could be that one person has recommended the quiz informally to a group of friends on the same course.

I had noticed for several weeks my "Microscope Parts and Lenses" had been played so often for a long period, and though it is several years old, found its way to the top five most played quite often. I had wondered if a school had used it for something. I did a Google search to see if I could figure it out, and couldn't. Pretty neat if it's being used to teach kids. wink

I did notice an increase in one of my biology related quizzes for about a month, but if it's for a very short term I usually just assume it was the quiz of the hour.

Congrats to Salami though, that's exemplary.
