I just got this single question in an hourly game:

"On November 28, 2012 there was a very unusual occurrence in New York City; what was it?"

There are a few questions like this -- vague single questions that get accepted and voted well because they are written shortly after the event occurs, with nearly no substantive detail in the question. Are these really acceptable? Can I send in corrections on these?

You can certainly send corrections, and an editor will review the question and decide whether it does indeed need expansion. Sometimes the question seems vague, but the options offered include three that can be clearly ruled out using good general knowledge. I wouldn't consider it a very good question, but might accept it on that basis.

Rather than start a new topic...

A team member has asked why there is no "For Children" category in the single questions.

I know that I have seen the answer somewhere, but where???

Basically, you can submit your question to the relevant main category - most of For Children is simpler quizzes on topics that appear elsewhere as well. Single questions don't need to be separated into easier ones for children, since they are going to be used in the mixed games. If the subject matter is something like a book or movie or TV show that you think of as being primarily aimed at children, you can submit it to Literature or Movies or Television.
