Hmmm. Not sure how to feel about this one. I quite liked the original. #2-4 were hit and miss but all in all, an acceptable if somewhat bumpy and generally downhill ride. #5 I have not even seen, on the advice of my brother and...pretty much everyone else who has seen it. I usually don't just take other peoples word for it and accept popular opinions as my own without actually seeing it for myself especially since on occasion I have quietly enjoyed a movie that the vast majority ripped on. But disdain for this one is so universal and the "plot" sounds so stupid that I am willing to make an exception and call it crap without sampling directly. So it would be good for the series if it can end on a high note.

This one certainly has washout potential too though which might be worse if the series ends on not one...but two stink bombs. Or maybe even worse than that, if they drag it out further and do the unthinkable, altering the storyline with John involved in any further major incidents between this prequel and Nakatomi in additional films.

I think if it is done well, the events will have to be relatively low key in comparison to the grand scheme action of the rest of them. Which might also be ok, if you view this as a bit of a standalone, apart from the rest of the franchise.
