Great to see a woman finally win the Melbourne Cup, but, unfortunately, yet another horse has been injured. 'Red Cadeaux' didn't finish the race and has been taken to Werribee Vet Clinic to have surgery on his left foreleg. After the tragic deaths of 'Araldo' and 'Admire Rakti' last year, fingers crossed 'Red Cadeaux' will be OK.

Good news on 'Red Cadeaux'. His injuries are not life threatening. He'll have surgery tomorrow but won't race again.

Terrible news! Just found out that Red Cadeaux has been euthanized following complications with blood flow to his injured leg. He'll be buried at Flemington Racecourse.
