He is gorgeous, whichever way up. But is he drunk? He is a cutie pie, isn't he? No, he's not drunk! He had been sleeping with his paw covering his face. I woke him up with the clicking of the shutter as I took over 20 pictures of him napping.

Aw they're both so cute, MJ. Can you get a snap of the two of them together?
And FlopsyMopsy, I really love that snap of the lamp. Talk about professional!

Here's a blast from the past. Found this in my photos today and thought some of you might find it interesting. I took this photo in 1969 with my trusty Kodak Instamatic (I was barely 12 years old at the time) when these three very famous gentlemen visited Perth. Anyone want to guess who they are?

Lovely to see the cats together, and not much of a clue who's in the car at that distance. I think this escapes the no people photos rule

I think this escapes the no people photos rule Yes, I forgot about the "no people" rule. Flopsy, please let me know if I need to delete this if it violates the rules. I don't think anyone is really recognisable, not even the three celebrities, and when I posted it, I was thinking more about the historical aspects of this old photo. 1969 and "history" are the clues.

1969 and "history" are the clues. Well, yes I was 19, so History certainly fits. Ohhh!! Yes!! Are they the astronauts ?Armstrong, Aldrin and Grissom?

Very very close ren - Neil Armstrong, Edwin (Buzz) Aldrin and Michael Collins, the astronauts involved in the Apollo 11 landing on the moon in 1969.
Afterwards, they did a world tour. I remember being at home one weekend, listening to the radio, when they announced that the astronauts were proceeding down Great Eastern Highway in an open limousine on their way from the airport to the city. Well, we lived very close to that highway, so I grabbed the camera and went down to take photos of them.

The "no people" rule, like laws which led to it, was designed to protect the innocent - people who might not know they were in your photo and who might be targeted because of it, whether they were police at a demo or tourists admiring a view. However, the law has been softened and so has the rule... I would say that if the people can't be recognised, e.g. because they're too small, the faces have been blurred, etc., or if they give permission, then that's okay - and sometimes you just can't take a photo without people in it somewhere. I will interpret the rules more strictly for children - don't post pics of children is the best rule, and if you must, none of them must be recognisable or traceable.
Having said all that, celebrities are another matter, especially in old photos. Celebrities expect you to take photos, that's why they pose. So even though we can recognise the astronauts, they were there to be seen by the people - and their Instamatics. As for the crowd, it was so long ago that I imagine that hardly anyone would know anyone even if they were there - and the children are long since grown up and unrecognisable. So I'd say that picture is fine.
You were 19 in 1969, Ren? That makes me older than you. Eek!
