As I said last time, the statues everywhere are amazing. This is in front of the Conrad in Mid Levels. As you see there are many aspects of HK life. I do like them.
The other day they published a picture of this group in the paper and in front of it was a huge wild boar, who had strayed into town from somewhere. A sight to see!

In the months I was gone we had a new puppy. This pic is a bit old but it's my favourite. So that is Chip on the bottom and he was the pup that was born about 18 months ago and the little ratbag on top is Dusty. They are full brothers. Cip is such a beautiful patient dog that the pup gets away with this kind of stuff all the time.

Ren, your statues are tame, a friend of mine has just returned from Hong Kong and has photos of full frontal male statues and unlike the classical ones in museums etc, no bits have broken off.

That's Chip on the bottom? Wow, he grew into his ears... better watch out for the other one. And while Chip may seem to be good-natured, I think the eye we can see has a bit of a wolf gleam...

lol no really, he is as gentle as any dog I've had. We haave to protect him when it comes to feeding time because he lets the pup (who is a lot bigger now) and the goats eat his food.

I can't remember if I posted this before but we thought we'd stop the goat joining in by feeding Chip in the drum but then he just let it happen anyway ... and now there's the pup to contend with!

Dear Sue, if you scroll back I think you missed that I mentioned the "ROOD" statues. I would post my photos of them but maybe then Flops WOULD shout.

The plane's foggy window was annoying so no decent photos but we are approaching the slightly snow capped mountains of some part of the South Island (if you can see them).

It snowed yesterday! Luckily it wasn't on the roads so I got out and got some pictures of the little that was left, this is just north of Reigate.

Ooh, something I recognise - the tram!

I first went to Hong Kong on my way to Australia, a few day at the Lee Gardens which cost me nothing. Or maybe it was the air ticket that cost nothing - remember the days of bucket shops? When airline crews would sell their friends and family tickets and airlines would dump their spares so they wouldn't have empty seats? Anyway, not far from the hotel there was a big hole in the ground - it looked like a bomb site and had been fenced off with chicken wire. I thought the hotel wouldn't be thrilled by that as a neighbour... and then flew to Oz and didn't give it a second thought. Until I returned to HK four weeks later and the hole in the ground was over twenty storeys high and "opening next week!"

Dusty and Chip .. again. this one was taken today, though, with Dusty 6 months old and catching up to Chip in size.

The Lee Gardens Hotel has sadly gone now.Maybe you should come back and play where the hell am I and where's the _______ gone. Most people who come back for a visit get very quickly lost. I don't think you will get a free or even a cheapie ticket now.Not much is as it was. Food still good and the Peninsula still stands.

Things are stirring up towards Chinese New Year. The school near us is blasting out the sound of Lion Dance Drumming as they practice for the Great Parade. The streets are beginning to put up decorations, and red and gold displays fill the Shopping Malls.
Our tiny village has a new Temple built every 10 years, but they don't pull down the old ones, they are left standing and there is quite a row of them from different eras. Here is last years, all decked out.
