You're such an inspiration, Jane.

Still plodding along here and slowly and steadily losing. I don't have exact scales but since the start of the year I've lost 9kg ... might be a bit harder for the next couple of weeks. The boy is home for school holidays and crap tends to creep into the house a bit more shocked

Over the last two weeks, I've dropped 0.3 to sit at 12 st 10.7 pounds. I will have access next Sunday, but will not for the rest of May. Here's hoping I can keep it from going back up while in training starting May 16!

Was up 0.1 this week to sit at 12 st 10.8 pounds. Unless the motel has a scale, I will not have access to one until into June.

Hello again!

I haven't posted to or checked this thread in years. I had managed to lose 30 lbs back in 2013 (I think) but then fell off the wagon. Recently I've been struggling with depression, and I think it will help to adopt a more active lifestyle and get on the diet wagon again.

I've been getting up at 5:30am to go for a 20-30 minute walk before getting ready for work (I used to sleep until almost 7) with plans to add more thorough exercising later when it won't come as such a shock to this habitually sedentary body.

I'm on day 4 and have shed my "water weight," down 8 lbs to 192 as of this morning. My goal is to maintain 140-145.

I'm looking forward to posting my positive results. smile

I'm sorry that I've stayed so quiet on the "weigh-in" thread the last few months smilee My weight has been more or less the same, gaining a pound or two one week, losing it the following week. But I'm Nine Stone, Three and a half pounds this week. Hope to lose a little more in the next few months laugh

Friday used to be my official weigh-in day, so I'll continue that tradition.

Still at 191 (but I didn't really expect to lose any weight in 3 days).

I just got back from Maryland, and will be able to weigh-in on Sunday. I wonder if I've lost a few, as I had over 165,000 steps last week!

Down 7 lbs to 185 this morning; however, some of that is attributed to purchasing a new, more accurate digital scale. Turns out my old one was reading high.

I must report on the bad times as well as good. I've broken the 12 stone record and am now almost 12-3. I suspect the running regime has given me more of an appetite which I will now have to curb.

Good to see you around Lady C and you're clearly succeeding in your efforts.

Whatever you're doing is working, LadyC! Nice work!

You know what to do, SatG. laugh

Still plodding along here. I exercise well, I eat meals well .. good portions and very healthy .. and then I have afternoon snacks. Ugh. They're not all bad but there is a lot of them. Need to work on it.

The programme I'm on has started us doing a bit of yoga. Have never take mauch notice of it but I am feeling the benefits.

I'm doing the Dr. Phil 20/20 diet. However I think this weekend is going to be a set-back. Some friends are helping me pickup a new washer/dryer set and I'm buying them pizza and beer as a thank-you. Not sure I'll resist having a slice. Also going to the movies (Finding Dory) on Sunday. I'd planned on getting a small popcorn and water. But, on this diet you're allowed 2 100 calorie "splurges" a week (the point is to not deny yourself everything and then feel rebellious and pig out). So far I haven't felt the need to have any, but at the same time I'm not going to tell myself I can't have a treat on a special occasion with friends as long as I do so with moderation. If I gain a pound next week it's not the end of the world.

Weigh-in Friday!

Down 4.4 lbs this week to 177.8. I'm really excited to break 170. That'll be my lowest weight since I shot past it all on the way up after I quit smoking.

Yes! Passed by halfway mark, weighing in today at 171.4.

Funny true story: I had made lentils in a dijon mustard sauce to put on top of my lettuce for today's lunch. My coworker ended up throwing it out because it "looked gross" and she thought it had been in the fridge long enough to begin liquefying.

In her defence, it did look sort-of gross, and the staff fridge was full of people's food that was rotting and liquefying. I had to have a donair and fries from the cafeteria. (Which actually made me pretty happy!)

Doing a mid-week post, and as I have been so busy since my last post (which was the day before my girlfriend's father passed), I have dropped four pounds since then to sit at 12 st 6.7 pounds.

smile I know I haven't been around for a few months, but still doing good with the weight-loss smile And today is thirteen - yes thirteen!!! years since I started my Healthy living. Most of my Funtrivia friends have been with me from the very, very beginning smile
Thirteen years ago, I made my enormous life-changing decision, to change my eating habits. Back then I was fourteen stone ... and more than probably more! - and my quality of life was more or less zero. General aches and pains, rarely a week went by when I didn't visit my doctor, then using a manual wheelchair for getting about on long and short journeys. It couldn't have been easy for Dad to be pushing me, or Mum either. I snacked on pastries, biscuits by the handful and chocolate bars. I must have known I was overweight - I was certainly more than a little depressed - but didn't "want" to do anything about it. Until I had a blood-test to see if that brought up anything - a trial in itself since I was terrified of injections. What the test came back with was seriously scary - I was borderline diabetes and if I didn't stop my "unhealthy eating" almost at once, I would be injecting myself every day.
It was a massive shock to me, Mum and Dad, and the immediate family. But, the next morning, I decided it was going to be a brand new start. All the goodies were taken out of the house and stored outside, in the shed, to remove temptation. And slowly but surely, with determination, the pounds started to fall off. And the beauty of it, is that I don't do a diet as such, I just try and cut down on the treats. Before, I was having "treats" six or seven times a week - these days its maybe three times a week. When there's a family celebration, Easter or Christmas, I eat what I want, but then cut down the rest of the week smilee
At the moment, I'm Nine stone, three pounds and a quarter more or less the same as last year laugh
Dad was so proud of my weight loss - as is Mum - but all my friends on Funtrivia have helped me with their support too. Many thanks, one and all xxxxxxxx

Well done JM! Maintaining a healthy lifestyle for thirteen years is an achievement in and of itself, and realizing your weight loss goals is just icing on the cake (maybe that's not the best expression to use!).

I've struggled the last three weeks to maintain my healthy lifestyle and diet. A series of upheavals and unresisted temptations. So, I'm up 1.6 lbs from my last post to 173 as of this morning. Not too bad, considering all the unhealthy choices I've made recently. I think the problem for me was trying to do a third diet cycle without allowing myself any treats. This time around, I'm going to allow myself two days of my favourite foods between cycles. And it'll be something to look forward to every month.
